Well, it seems as if development of FloatingFrames has ceased, or at least put on extended hold. Does anyone know of a good alternative? I like FF and would like to see something more current with most (preferably all) of the same features.

Disabling Floating Frames takes it away, so I assume its this addon instead of any of the others.

Guys you can Disable the error msg through floatingframes.

    type /ff errors

That will disable the error msg and ff will work without the errors. The only frame that will be locked is the new lfg until they update it. But until then this will fix the error.

  • I am having the same problem as Dychem and ShantiSmurf - <Couldn't find frame: LFGParentFrame> error, any fix?

I am getting an error <Couldn't find frame: LFGParentFrame> ... when I disable it The error does not show.

  • Dychem I am having the same problem. I found the line in FloatingFrames.lua that refers to that frame, but commenting it out or even completely removing it from the file does not eliminate the error. For now FF is disabled for me as well.

Oh, for completeness, I'm running on a wide-screen monitor, I don't know if that could be making a difference or not...

I have a similar problem to isotope's. My quest log buttons are visible but not functional when FF is loaded.

I tried something similar to what Snarfle did and commeneted out the invalid frames. That didn't work, so I tried commenting out some others. For me, commenting out the quest frame didn't fix the problem, but commenting out the character frame, it worked, but then didn't on another toon that had a couple of different addons loaded.

I tried disabling other addons, thinking it was some kind of interaction, but was unable to track it to a specific addon. When I unload addons until I have found an addon where the buttons don't work when it's loaded, but do work when it's not, I try loading JUST that addon with FF and the quest log buttons STILL work. The only consistent thing is no matter how many addons are loaded or which ones they are, if FF is NOT loaded, the quest log buttons always work.

This leads me to belive the problem is somehow related to the number of addons running and/or how much memory or some other resource they are taking up, and FF is doing something that screws up when a lot of addons are loaded. I don't know enough about addon scripting to get any further than that.

Personally I don't have a single problem with the questlog and FF.
Could you explain a bit further what your problems are ?

Sadly I think it may be time to pull the blanket over this addon and have a funeral it appears to have passed. Thanks to all the people who worked on it over the years.

I commented out the two lines with Quest in them, reloaded my UI and the quest log text shows again...of course I can't move the frame.

I found out that it's this great addon that bugs my quest log window, sometimes not seeing the quest text and most of the time the Abandon and Share buttons dont work. I have to diseable FF to abandon quests since 3.2

    Good luck and thx!

Well i'm using my own addon ofcourse.
And i don't experience any difficulties with it in 3.2 at all.
Not in PVP (BG's) nor PVE.
Report all errors and i'll try to look into them as much as possible.

@ultimawpnz: You're thinking of some other addon. You don't have to hold down ctrl at all with mine.

I'll take a brief look at Ackis and see if it's a quickfix =)

I cannot find anywhere, for the life of me, how do I make FF bring up the colored boxes so I can move them? I found out I can hold CTRL and drag a few of the frames, but the one I want to move is the box of information that comes up when you hover over anything (like a mob or item). The readme.txt shows the command lines but neither of those allow me to move that box >.<

Can we get support for Ackis Recipe list buttons.

I love this addon, but when using it I can not press the button for Ackis Recipe list. The fix is relatively easy, I changed the value: WT from TradeSkillFrame to 60. The problem is that now the curse client sees it's edite from my side and doesn't say anymore when there are updates.

Maybe you can fix that somehow. Thanks in advance.
Also, great addon, I can't live without it anymore :)

The addon works not correct, I attack enemies with it at the first time and there life and mana was all time full in my standard-Interface.

Last I was nearly a free kill against a warrior and a priest.

I delete this addon, for you the bug that you can take a look at this.
