  • About EveryQuest QuestGivers
  •

EveryQuest QuestGivers is a seperate database of quest givers and the quests that they give to be displayed on your minimap and world map.

Filters for EveryQuest are separate from filters for EveryQuest: Quest Givers. You can now filter based on category.

Current Addon Requirements

Later I will possibly add support for Cartographer as a replacement for Handynotes Cartographer is no longer in active development, I will not be supporting it

Bug Reports

Please direct all support requests to Wowace.

Localization

Wowace localization is now setup for all you world travelers! Visit the localization page to translate.

What does it do?

World Map & Minimap Display

Displays a (!) on your world map and minimap where quest givers appear in game (if an NPC has more then 1 location, the mark on the map is averaged so it might not be spot on all the time)

Quest History

As you complete quests and EveryQuest logs them, the minimap and world map update and remove completed quests from being displayed.

Integration

Due to the nature of this being a module of Handynotes, you can make waypoints to any quest giver's location using the right click menu on any npc.

Filters

By default, the marks on the map are filtered by your character's faction. You can change this by using the EveryQuest options frame under the Quest Givers sub menu.

I was going to download this since it was featured on a fan site, but after reading into this, I have came to understand that the author of this is a jerk.
"Cartographer is dead, I will not be supporting it"
"Push a beta because people can't use the alpha apparently."

    Enough said.
Hey author, grow up. It's not all about you.

As far as the developers of cartographer are concerned cartographer /is/ dead (and broken) as of WoW 3.3.0. I can't blame the guy for not wanting to waste time and effort to add support for a dead/broken mod. Even with cartographer being the best map mod I've ever found (imo).

Sure, "Push a beta because people can't use the alpha apparently.", wasn't the nicest way to put it but is is the truth. Most people don't understand the rather vast differences between Release, Beta, and Alpha. :/

He doesn't have to "grow up" if he doesn't want to, it is his choice, whether the rest of society likes it or not. Also, in this case it is all about him as it is /his/ addon.

I love the addon, but would it be a huge amount of work to have it aware of the current holiday (or if there is any), and use that to hide/show season quests?

Is there any way you can disable the exclamation marks on the mini-map? Or can you add an option to do that?

  • The exclamation marks do not seem to disappear. Just completed all quests in Duskwood and alot of the marks are still there. That being said I still love this addon. Thank you.

The exclamation marks do disappear. However, some quests are not listed as being from that zone and if they aren't completed then the marks won't disappear. These kinds of quests usually will be there unless you manually update EveryQuest:
    1) Seasonal quests (i.e. Elders (Lunar Festival))
    2) Profession quests
    3) Class specific quests

Since you didn't complete these quests (because you don't have access to them) they are not marked as "Turned In" and thus EQ:QuestGivers shows them on your map. They are not listed under the zone as quests but rather under a different category.

Is there a way to search for a particular quest?

For all who are having trouble with this: r16 has a slight bug in it that causes an error when you mouse over something in the mini-map. It generates the following error:

    ..\AddOns\EveryQuest_QuestGivers\addon.lua line 275:
attempt to compare number with nil

    Here's how to fix this:

    1) Open the file addon.lua in the EveryQuest_QuestGivers folder in your addons directory. Any standard text editor will work (i.e. Notepad)

    2) Search for the line (should be line 275):
if (status >= 2 and dcount == nil) then

    3) Change that line to the following:
if ((status or 0) >= 2 and dcount == nil) then

    4) ???

    5) Profit

    Enjoy!

Fix works, thanks. Now I can continue on with the Loremaster Achievement

  • This no longer seems to work. The Add on screen tells me discrepancy is missing yet all related to Everyquest is included and activated (inc. Load out of date). :(

do you have handynotes also? i think that one is required also.

    Reply Report Permalink
  • Never needed Handynotes before and it worked fine. The current Handynotes on Curse seems to be an older version also.

This was the perfect addition mod to.

HandyNotes was always required. If you download this with the Curse client it will install HandyNotes for you, otherwise you have to install it manually. This mod does work - I just downloaded and it seems to be working just fine.

r9 had a bug in it but it has been fixed in r16. (Actually r16 has a similar bug in it but this doesn't prevent it from working, plus I have a fix in the post above this.)

  • Sorted thank you. For what ever reason Handynotes was not ticked. I shall blame my daughter. :D

    Hi! Nice addon!

I got this for the PTR to test with 3.3 and am using it on 3.2 as well. On 3.2, it'll say an NPC has 1 quest left for me, but he doesn't, or maybe it is part of a chain? I can't seem to get any ! to go away, ever.

Also, it would be very cool to be able to choose a color for the !, so if I want to distinguish other than by size, I can make yours purple or something.

    Thanks!

Is this going to be updated for the new patch stuff? I assume that's why I can't get it to work.
