About EnergyWatch

EnergyWatch has been revived. I have requested ownership of the addon and will continue to ensure it survives. It's feature will remain intact, I don't plan on adding too much, maybe just some combat/battleground modes.

EnergyWatch displays a small progress bar indicating how long until the next energy regeneration tick

It updates itself when your energy ticks up, so it may take a few seconds to sync itself after you first use some energy - no way I can think of to avoid this...

do you always state the obvious?

most people that used this addon for the last 2+ years were use to 20 energy per tick (2 seconds). all I did was emulate that. this addon now functions 95% as it did pre-patch

i know myself, playing on my rogue, used the tick sound, sort of like a metronome.

Any way we can have some visual configuration options other than just scale? The border and scale doesn't mesh with my current clean UI at all. I remember modifying energywatch a long time ago to alter dimension and clean up the look a bit, but I haven't gone into the new version yet, nor can I recall how I tweaked the old one. A bar that could be configured to the preferred look and dimensions would be nice.

@Darthgnomer- EnergyWatch is really not made for casters.

There is a FuBar plugin called Regen, which you can find at http://files.wowace.com.

I use that for my priest, I suggest you take a look

  • Could you please make it so this addon works for casters too? It is nice because mana regens per tick as well and after casting starts to fully regen on the third tick and this helps me see that but after inital installtion, this addon doesn't show on my casters. Please make adjustments so I can use this with my priest.

In regards to scaling and re-sizing. I personally won't be changing the mod to support altering the scale.

I don't experience problems, and I'm not looking to spend alot of time troubleshooting them.

If someone out there is having problems and would like to fix it, you are more than welcome to. And if you would like to upload your changes as a patch, please feel free.

    Problem with Scale.

Edit: Even stranger... it's now stopped behaving this way O_o.

I dislike the default scale, so use 0.4. However when I then also move the EW bar to middle screen left/right and about 1/5th from the bottom, then log out and back in, the bar disappears off the screen.

Setting the scale to 0.25 moves it back onto the screen. So, basically, scaling is affecting the *position* as well as the size of the bar (and I only want to change the size), and I guess I have something else to do with UI scaling interacting badly with what EnergyWatch does.

I have Titan Panel with UI scale at 79%, which looks to be what is also set in the Video Options panel ("Use UI scale is ticked and the bar is a little under half way between 0.64 and 1).

With the scale at 0.4 and the EW bar where I want it DFM claims its position to be 2134, -2400.2. If I place my DamageMeters frame in the same place and check with DFM it claims a position of 672,-775.1.

So, could we please have /ew scale affect ONLY the size and not placement in this way? I'll have a look at the code to see if I can spot anything obvious ....

@Shamino Thanks for your reply but it didnt fix the problem. I deleted the named File and it indeed affected my EW as i had to do the settings again, but show stealth still doesnt work. show always works fine, show combat works fine as well, but show stealth still works as show combat does.

@Bikito- if you used a previous version of EW, than you may have a conflicting SV file.

Please try renaming/deleting the following file(while the game is closed) WTF\Account\<account_name>\SavedVariables\EnergyWatch.lua

then login and set 'show stealth' and let me know.

all i wanted to say is that "show stealth" doesnt work.

when i set it to show stealth i have no bar while beeing in stealth only in combat.

@Bikito- i'm confused how you are using the mod? do you have macros that are changing when the bar is shown?

you just need to set it to "show stealth" once, and then it will be displayed when in stealth or in combat.

@thiefen- it was increased to support the use of the text option. try to use the scale option to find a better size that you prefer.

Why make it so wide. i like the old better when it wasnt that wide.

/ew show stealth - still doesnt work here. the energybar is shown while in "show always" mode and disappears as soon as i set it to "show stealth", although im stealthed. getting out of stealth and restealthing doesnt let it show again. the energybar is only shown while beeing in combat then.
