  • About Emotions
  •

Emotion responds automatically on emotes.
You can:

  • use emotes from WoW or write your own
  • define a pause between the responses
  • define a delay for each reaction
  • define, if the emote is used on a target

Use /emotions to show the config window

When you load the AddOn the first time, some emotes are loaded, to give you some examples.

If you want to use existing emotes, you have to use their EmoteTokens. Examples for the EmoteTokens are listed here:
http://www.wowwiki.com/EmoteToken (WotLK emotes are not listed)
or
http://wowcompares.com/ -> Latest live version -> ChatFrame.lua -> Search for "EMOTE1_TOKEN"

Localized for enUS and deDE clients... if you use any other client, the english emotes will be loaded. Delete them and define your own.

New localizations would be nice... (or corrections in the english localization ;) )

This is the first version of the AddOn, so please report bugs using the ticket tracker.

Have you already tried to delete the Saved Variables and/or reinstall the AddOn?

  • I am in the market for a good Autoemote addon since the actual Autoemote 2.3 posted by Gearshift from a long time ago finally sank benieth the waves on latest patch. Hated to let it go but I really need one that works. Will this one be updated soon??

    What doesn't work for you?
If it's only the message, that it's an older version, than you can ignore it and check the box that WoW loads older addons, or you update the first line in the Emotions.toc from ## Interface: 30200 to ## Interface: 30300

I put a ticket in for the errors I get.

  • I recently installed this and my friends and I get a kick out of it, but it does not allow me to create new emote events or edit the existing ones.

When I click New option, there is not change or anything to indicate I can start which is not a big deal, but when I fill out the information for the emote and hit save, nothing happens. It does not go into the list and then information stays in the input fields unless I clear it out.

When I select an existing emote, it does not populate the fields to change it. Other than the options menu, it works without any errors.

    Very strange...
It works fine for me. Try to install it again... delete the SavedVariables of the AddOn too. (WTF\Your_Account\SavedVariables\Emotions.lua and Emotions.lua.bak, if it exists)

  • I will try this out when I get home tonight and let you know. Just in case it doesn't work, is there any information I could provide that might help figure out what the issue might be?

  • After I reinstalled, I got this error when I tried to pull up one of the existing emotes

Since 0.2b you can't use /emo anymore, use /emotions to open the options-panel.
For the emotes, switch to the sub-category "Emotes" on the left and create a new emote by filling the boxes and save it or edit/delete an existing emote by choosing it in the dropdown-box.

Use your emote without a /
Look here for some emotes you can use:
    http://www.wowwiki.com/API_TYPE_Emotes_Token
(the emotes from WotLK are not listed)
    for more emotes look here:
    http://wowcompares.com/live/FrameXML/ChatFrame.lua
    (search for EMOTE1_TOKEN)

I suggest you rename you're /slash command since the addon named "Emo" uses /emo for their options settings. Just trying to help since it will obviously cause problems if not.

Thanks for the tip, I will remove it in the next release...

If you need a workaround, open the Core.lua with a program like Notepad and comment out or delete the line 122 witch says:
    SLASH_EMOTIONS2 = "/emo";
