    Hi,

For the elemental time-remaining thing you can use PetTimeToLive (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/pet-time-to-live.aspx).

    cheers,
    mitch

disclaimer: I'm the author of that one :)

  • I use OmniCC . This is an Cooldowntimer in the Actionbar-icon
You can configure it to show the cooldowntime in M:SS Format.
So it will count then WaterelemetalTime down from 2:00 to 0:00
Wenn it reaches 1:00 the Waterelmental will disappear( with Glypheand skillt)

Or you can pull out your big pocket stopwatch to do the same thing. Or say to yourself "one", "two", etc...heh. Not too practical.

All OmniCC does is count down spell cooldowns. That is, the number it puts on the Water Elemental icon is how long it will be until you can recast Water Elemental again. It has _nothing_ to do with how long it lasts after being cast.

Sure, if you want to do things the difficult way, you can look at the OmniCC number and subtract how long the duration is. Not too convenient.

ElementalFlux is fortunately now updated to work again (with r4), so no more of these inconvenient substitutes.

Ugh.. one of the "must have" addons not working anymore..

One way or the other I just wanted to say thanks. You don't really know just how much you love an addon until it breaks and you don't even want to play your character anymore. XD

I guess I'll search for something similar in the meantime.. if anyone finds something like this addon post it up.

    what im using for now:

    #showtooltip
    /cast Summon Water Elemental
    /script Stopwatch_Play();
    /stopwatch 60

the stopwatch wont start on its own for only the first time you use the macro after logging in, after that it should work fine

This fabulous mod is now dead in WoW 3.1, with its changes to frost Mages & Water Elementals.

ElementalFlux r3, WoW 3.1 live, USEnglish client/server, level 80 mage fully talented for both Summon Water Elemental & the new Enduring Winter (which replaces Improved Water Elemental). Also using the Glyph of Water Elemental. Don't have the ElementalFlux cast bar active, only the countdown box.

Log on, summon the Water Elemental in combat in a party. The countdown box spits out random numbers and never times the Water Elemental uptime properly. Repeated summons both solo & in a party, in and out of combat and after relogging (a few times), ElementalFlux never produced a workable timer countdown in its box.

It worked fine in WoW 3.0.x. Hope there will be an update.

It would be great if the duration of the ele were also represented by a bar (in addition to the numeric value). An analog bar is much more intuitive and you can 'read' it even if it is in the corner of your eye.

Maybe the current cast bar could simply be split vertically, so that the top half still functioned as a cast bar and the bottom half functioned as a duration bar.

Ideally, you could activate these two bars separately. I, for instance, don't need a cast bar and would only activate the duration bar.

Maybe it was somehow resized too small... I'll change resetpos to also reset the size.

Edit: Version 0.52 now also resets size. I think you accidentally resized it to negative width.

I'm having a problem with the addon since the patch. I think it has something to do with the new scaling. The timer box is glitched in the middle of my screen and I can't move it, and I've tried both the resetpos command and deleting the elementalflux savedvariables. Here's a screenshot with no other addons running.

Please add a "reset position" option to this mod. I installed it, got into a fight, summoned the WE, and wondered where the counter was.

2 adds later I found it in the middle of the screen, tried to move it and it poofed.

3 minutes later, I summoned the WE again, only to see strange border off to the edge of my screen.

Half an hour and a death later (45s every three minutes), experimenting with your options, I am unable to reposition this border. There is nothing in the border.

Also, adding an option to see where the frame is going to be without the WE out would help.

    A lot.

You can resize the Timer Window by pressing the alt key and moving the borders of the frame. But this will not change the content of the frame, so it's a bit pointless. You can also scale it with /ef scale <number>, where something like 2 would make it double size.

is there a way to make the timer window a bit bigger .. like a csting bar.. and Kroiden if you want sheepwatch to work just edit the toc.lua first line to ## 20000 and it works.

Ok, 0.3 should do what you want. Just type /ef format %02.0f for no decimals. Or /ef format %02.2 sec for something with more text.

    Bless you  : )

Anyway would be fine any command to activate/deactivate decimals. And a polymorph spell version; it seems all sheep timing addons are incompatible now  : ( But thanks for this.

    WOW version 2.3.3

When typing /ef i get the following error.

Interfage\AddOns\ElemantalFlux\ElementalFlux.lua:217: attempt to call global 'ElementalFLux_MSG' (a nil value)

If i type /ef <command> etc. there is no error.

Cold Snap itself does reset the Cooldown on the Spell. You can summon a new elemental after your old died, or you can summon a new one which replaces the old. What ever you do, the new will get 45 seconds lifetime.

The Stats of the Elemental (health, mana, Waterbolt Damage) seems to be influenced by your own gear.
