  • Something i meant to report a long time ago..

When you visit your mailbox there is 2 possible windows that open. Your 1st window with all your mails, then the 2nd window that displays the contents when you click on a mail in your Inbox in the 1st.

Now i can move the 1st and 2nd windows around my screen just as intended, but i've noticed that when i close the mail windows then revisit the mailbox again later that only the 1st window resets to it's default position. The 2nd window opens up at the previous place i dragged it to on my last visit. basically it's saving the setting rather than sending it back to the default.

It's not causing a problem or anything and i know it's nothing major to worry about, just thought i'd mention it as i was under the impression all windows should reset to default on closing them.

Yes, the DragEmAll mod you linked is the ticket.

Works well (doesn't save positions, just like DragQueen), no bugs and doesn't "take over" the top of frames (causing problems) like DragQueen here currently does.

Have been using NDragIt, but would be nice to move back to DragQueen (I used to use it long ago). A non-position-retaining frame move mod that is currently being supported.

One major problem, though, with v3.0.2-1.01 that is also present with every revision I've tried prior (USEng server/client, WoW 3.0.2 live). This "takes over" the top of the frames it moves.

Mouse over the top of a frame it can move and a tooltip pops up: "Left-click to move". The issue is that some other mods put things in that area and you can't access them with DragQueen active. A prime example of this issue is with the Postal mod. It puts its GUI options drop-down menu at the very top of the mail frame (a "down arrow" button). With DragQueen active, you cannot access this button.

NDragIt does not have this issue; it doesn't "take over" the top of the frames it can move (and it still works fine in WoW 3.0.2). A strata issue perhaps? Anyway, hope you can resolve it.

This also prevents the tradeskill link icon at the top of the frame from being clicked. Meaning you can no longer link your tradeskills to chat, which makes the mod unusable.

Hope to see this updated someday.

  • yeah i've noticed an issue with the Achievement frame. Since patch 3.0.8 released the achievement frame now has a filter option on the top right. (sort by name etc) but you can't click the filter box becuse DragQueen takes over it.

  • thanks for updating this, can't wait for the full WotLK version to be ready ;)

Just a little note. i noticed that when i open my spellbook and move it somewhere on my screen, if i click the new glphs tab the spellbook goes flying back to the corner of my screen (Blizzards default location). I can still move the book about though even on the glphs page.

I guess it's probally caused due to the fact the new WotLK frames arnt yet fully supported. but i thought i'd mention it just in case it was an oversight as it doesnt happen with any other tabbed frames that contain new WotLK tabs, just the spellbook.

Thanks for all you great work.. i'd be lost without this mod!

  • To undo the changes made with MoveAnything, firstly uninstall it. Next, go to your {WoW Directory}\WTF\account\{accountname}\{server}\{character} folder and delete the file called layout-cache.txt - this is the file that stores the position of most onscreen elements, except the ones that save their locations in their own datafiles (and they shouldn't be affected by MoveAnything's changes once it has been removed).

Obviously, for thie to work WoW itself needs to be shut down beforehand, and after you restart everything except your chatboxes will be back in their default positions.

This is my comment about MoveAnything, a mod that DragQueen might improve upon:

MoveAnything is an excellent idea, but the mod could be improved. It lacks an "undo all" function. I tried it, found freedom to rearrange my setup any way I knew how.....then I did not like the result. I guess the best customization mod is only as good as the customizer, since I don't know how to do much. It won't uninstall like a mod should, and my screen is unplayable.

2 things I want to be able to do: uninstall it just like most other mods; and get my setup back to the way it was. Could you add these features in a future update? Or at least a plugin that saves or backs up a setup?

Any advice for now? I cannot get rid of MoveAnything, but I could live with it, if only I could Move Everything back.

I'm going to try dragqueen in combo with auctionfilter plus and see if I can't find a work-around (I'm sure I can).  :D

EDIT: Perhaps I fixed it accidentally. I can't duplicate the problem.

I've also seen hundreds of AuctionFilterPlus errors, and when I disable that it blames my raid frames instead, and if I disable those it points to Ace (I haven't tried disabling Ace). If I am still able to reproduce the issue I'll try disabling DQ.

    slade8,

I went ahead and installed BugGrabber and BugSack.

I also installed AuctionFilterPlus, and I already use XPerl unitframes.

I ran a dozen or so AB's and the only errors I received came from CT_RaidAssist.

Could you post me a list of all the mods you use? I can play around with them and figure out what i need to workaround. Thanks!

    slade8,

I've never used buggrabber before. I'll give it a try later on today and see if I can't figure out what's going on!

This seems to be causing massive amounts of errors when used with mods like X-Perl or auction filter plus when in raid groups. When I disable this mod everything works fine and I don't get any errors (by massive I mean buggrabber is listing 700+).

Slade8, Good idea to add the LFG window. I'll do that in the next release! Thanks!

kaplow, Thank you for the compliment!

Zidomo, I will definitely check this out. Thanks for the bug report! :D

Fabulous to see this back. MobileFrames out of Cosmos is still bloated and not totally WoW 2.x compatible.

Got an error with this in a 10-person raid last night, though.

No specifics on what was happening when the error occurred, though. Just that the error was recorded. May have been in or out of combat.

"ADDON_ACTION_BLOCKED:AddOn 'DragQueen' tried to call the protected function 'FriendsFrame:ClearAllPoints()'.\n<in C code>: in function `ClearAllPoints'\nDragQueen\\DragQueen.lua:51: in function `DragQueen_Template_OnHide'\n<string>:\"DragQueen_$parent:OnHide\":2: in function <in C code>: in function `Hide'\nFrameXML\\UIParent.lua:908: in function `SetLeftFrame'\nFrameXML\\UIParent.lua:875: in function `HideUIPanel'\n<string>:\"FriendsFrameCloseButton:OnClick\":2: in function

Just tried it, works very well. Only suggestion would be to add the new lfg window so it is drag able.
