Have a question? Check the Dominos wiki first!

Dominos is an action bar addon intended to do the following:

  • Reuse as much standard blizzard action button code as possible.
  • Contain a relatively minimal feature set
  • Be easy to use
  • Be stable

It includes the following features:

  • 10 action bars, pet, class, menu, and bag bars. Each one has customizable settings for padding, spacing, columns, scale, and opacity.
  • Customizable paging. You can switch pages on: action bar pages, modifier keys, forms, and targeting.
  • Customizable show states. You can tell your bar under which macro options to show.
  • Fading bars. You can set your bars to fade out to a certain opacity when not moused over.
  • The ability to customize showing empty buttons or not
  • Full button facade support
  • Keybound support
  • Sticky frames
  • The ability to move buttons in combat
  • A movable casting bar (optional)
  • A movable roll frame (optional)
  • A movable xp/reputation bar (optional)
  • Configurable right click targeting
  • Configurable self cast key settings
  • Possess bar support

...and will probably not end up with the following:

  • A stats bar
  • A minimap bar
  • True variable length bars

Here's how you use it:

  • To see the current list of slash commands, type /dom ? or /dominos ?
  • To open up the options menu, either go into interface options, or type /dom
  • To move bars around, either go into the options menu and press the "Enter Config Mode" button, or type /dom lock
  • To bind keys, enter binding mode via /kb or /keybound, or press the "Enter Binding Mode" button in the options menu.

...and this is why I wrote it:

  • I have significantly less time to code now than I did previously. Dominos is intended to be easier to maintain.
  • I wanted to see how much I could do while maintaining compatibility with the standard action button code.
  • I'm not entirely happy with the direction I took with Bongos3. I added features that I do not see myself using personally, and thus feel that those features will be neglected and bug ridden.

You can use the following to add extra functionality:

  • RedRange - Colors action buttons red when out of range
  • OmniCC - Adds cooldown count text
  • ButtonFacade - Allows you to change the look of the action, pet, and class buttons
  • Inline Aura - Adds buff and debuff highlighting to action buttons

    Hi Tuller,

I have been using Dominos and your Bongos varieties for almost two years now with no problems other than the occasional vehicle problem (a while back). I switched to Dominos when you gave up Bongos. Dominos is a great bar addon, best one I ever used!

When I first started using Dominos I used to use the faded opacity function and it worked. I stopped using that for a while and when I tried to activate it again I keep getting the error message below.

    Date: 2009-12-04 21:53:19
    ID: 1
    Error occured in: Global
    Count: 38
    Message: ..\AddOns\Dominos\fadeManager.lua line 104:
attempt to call method 'IsMouseOver' (a nil value)
    Debug:
    [C]: IsMouseOver()
    Dominos\fadeManager.lua:104: IsFocus()
    Dominos\fadeManager.lua:74:
    Dominos\fadeManager.lua:62

I used to use the faded opacity on the actionbars at the right side of the screen and it always worked with no problems but now the only place I am trying to use it is on the Class bar. When I try to set the faded opacity for the Class bar I get the error message above. The actual opacity works, that is to say if I set faded opacity at 0 or 50% for example and normal opacity at 100% it does fade to 0 or 50% but the mouseover itself doesn't work. It should be 100% when I mouse over it and when I mouse-off of it it should fade but it doesn't.

As of my post right here on the front page (right now) if you look at comments on page 6 and 7 other people posted this problem as well but I saw no comments or acknowledgment from you; so I don't know if you saw those comments about this error or if you fixed it without saying anything, but I am still having this problem.

This is really not a huge problem, I can deal with the Class bar not fading but it would be nice to get it working.

Thanks for all the great work you do and for continuing to support your project.

    Regards,

    AZMAK

Your bug report, to me indicates that one of the following is true:
    * You're not running 1.14.2
    * You are running 1.14.2, but my addon thinks you're not on a 3.2 realm.

If you're not running 1.14.2, then update your addon. If you are, then please give me the results of /dump GetBuildInfo()

*sighs I am sorry Tuller. You're right I wasn't using 1.14.2 I was using 1.13.0. I could have sworn I updated this last week.

    Downloading now.

    Thanks

EDIT: Works fine now. Thank you again.

Hi, I decided to try another action-bar add-on, as the one i was using before (bartender 4) didn't quite do the job for me. After playing around with Dominos I have to say WOW! This add-on is so simple, easy to setup and uses less memory, also has a richer display experience (imo). Thanks for making a quality add-on and more importantly supporting it. [The Bartender add-on was updated months ago and has limited support (non-existent i find)]

I also have some questions, hopefully someone can help me.

    1. Somewhat related to clouds2x's comment below, But I have NO range indicator on my action-buttons. i.e. when i press an action button I don't know if i'm within range or not, and i get the message "Out of range" and have to move closer to target and retry the action.

    2. I've selected the "Show Empty Buttons" option and it works as intended. But I have no need to see Empty buttons on my possess bar, as I can't drag-or-drop buttons there. So how do I set-it-up so that only the possess bar doesn't have the empty buttons showing. If that's too hard or impossible then I'd at least like to change the z-order of the action bars i.e I have bar 10 as the possess bar and vehicle bar above it but dominos puts the vehicle bar automatically below bar 10, so the vehicle buttons don't work.

Any help is appreciated. Once again thanks for this awesome add-on.

    For range coloring: http://code.google.com/p/tullamods/wiki/DominosPlugins

For the latter, there's not much you can do at the moment beyond shrinking the bar.

hi, was wondering if it would be possible to add Range on Actionbars in shape of small white/red squares in place of keybinding names when you choose option to hide keybindings.
(i really dont like the redrange addon as a warrior)

Like when you have default Blizzard bars and no keybindings, it ll show:
    No Target: Nothing
Target out of Range: Red Square in the corner
Target in Range: White Square in the corner

Or maybe it would be possible to delete some lines to make dominos use default bindings style?

  • Hello.

I have a small issue with the vehicle bars, and yes I can see the enter/exit button aswell as the possess bar. But, is there any way to set vehicle hotkeys like on the default bars? Enter vehicle, have different hotkeys on 1,2,3 etc, exit the vehicle and use your own again.

Cheers for a great addon and hoping for a quick answer ;)

By default, the vehicle _actions_ are placed on bar 1, and should share your same hotkeys.

I cannot get my totem bar to appear through Dominos while on my Shaman alt. YES I DO have Dominos_Totems enabled, as well as the first rank of the Call of the Elements spell. This problem persists with all other addons disabled, although my class bars for Paladin and Druid work just fine. The following is the error message I continue to receive upon logging in.

Hello, I recently added Dominos, and love it. However, I lost the ability to see a loot greed/need dialogue box when in instances and raids. Anyone have a fix/solution?

are you sure you didnt turn it off by accident. Open up the dominos config and middle click i think it is on the roll box. That should fix it.

  • With the Totem Bars, is there any option to turn on that will allow me to turn on the drop menu for the Totem Bars?

I was hoping it would be fixed with this latest update, but I'm still having issues with changing specs. Everytime i swap from one spec to another the blizzard default reputation bar pops up. normally it would be little more than a nuisance because it seems to have a lower strata than the bongos bars, but it relocates my vehicle control buttons(namely the dismount vehicle) to the default location, which happens to be under my bars.
the problem began immediateley after the 1.12.1 update

i've been using dominos for quite some time now and i must say thanks for all the great work , although theres something i wish it was implemented, the option to hide and show bars with 1 command like /dominos show 1 or /dominos hide 1 , that could be really nice!

    thanks a lot :)

Have you tried typing that exact command? The only limitation is that it does not work in combat. Take a look a the slash commands section here:
