DomDom SoundPack 03 by SteelAlliance, even more sounds.

This mod is a sound pack addon to another mod. You need to have DomDom and all of its required sound packs installed to make it work.
If you love DomDom, please rate it 5 stars!

Also, there now is a new Graphical Interface available for DomDom, you can find DomDomMenu here

WARNING: Dutch audio files included!

The sound files included with the mod came from any source I could find (fair use).

Shouts:
Thanks to Leeona for delivering all the audio files, he really did all of the hard work. All i did was package them. Big Up! :P

I can see your point concerning the language barrier and perhaps you/we have to think of a new way to number/tag the audio files and use that to search the files.

However, i think Leeona has done a great job delivering files with the same quality compared to the first two packs. And i think it's not only to one man to decided that content should be appropriate and funny or insulting enough ;)

In any case, in future actions regarding DomDom i will notify you first and let you have time to make suggestions.

Oh, I agree totally. That's why as I was developing DomDom and it's two sound packs over the on and off course of two years through 3 guilds across 3 realms and 2 factions, I incorporated some really useful feedback that reflected the majority of issues/complaints from DomDom users.

That's what I use as a reference for my judgments and decisions of whether something is good, obscure, poor quality, or if something can be cleaned up or split to produce good sound files.

...."i think Leeona has done a great job delivering files with the same quality compared to the first two packs."

Well, not to offend anyone, but I suppose I subscribe to a higher level of quality then (again, based on all of the feedback that I got from users of DomDom).

While sifting through this soundpack, I found that there was a decent number of files that were too quiet, had audio rough ends to the end of the sound files (producing audible spike noises), needed trimming at the front or back of the sound files, were too long with rampant pointless audio (making you wait a while for the point of a sound), were sampled at a much lower quality and bit rate then what I would consider to be an acceptable bit rate, had too much background noise/audio that made the foreground audio difficult to understand, or was audio in a different language.

Also, there was next to no spelling out of what was said in the sound files, thus making them unsearchable by the words that are spoken in the sound files themselves.

I was basically trying to just evaluate it and see if there was anything of particular interest to current, and potential DomDom users in it. =)

Ultimately, I ended up evaluating the 110 sound files in this soundpack, and here is what I found:
    1. 29 (26%) of the files were awesome to use
    2. 6 (5%) of the files had good good quality and content, but weren't ideal to use as is. They just needed to be cleaned up, trimmed, or split into multiple sound files.
    3. 75 (68%) of the files were substandard (quality, content, language, length, etc)
    * Please note, spelling out of names was not taken into consideration of the results, as almost all of the sound files needed renaming.

And, I have a potential solution that I'm trying to hammer out, that would allow other sound packs to exist while potentially not conflicting with other soundpacks. =) Wohoo!

Mackatack, I'm assuming you didn't listen to the sound files before you packaged them? I realize a lot of you guys might actually know what is being said in a lot of the German sound files, because you're on EU servers. But, it's not like that here in the states.

It's not appropriate to go mixing languages. lol. Because, ultimately the user base ends up being alienated and flooded with sounds that aren't understandable due to language barriers. Also, some of the sounds I saw were so rediculously old, poor quality, or riddled with background sounds and laugh tracks. And I'm sure Happy Days was all the rage 25 years ago. But, come on now. lol

I mean I don't want to sound like a jerk, but I would like some serious input into what sounds are being added. Currently, the majority of DomDom is English. And I would prefer to keep it that way, because, I only know that one language. lol. But, after literally bouncing hundreds and hundreds of sound files from being included with DomDom due to quality and inappropriateness reasons. I'd like to think I have a good handle on what is a good addition to DomDom, and what would stand to tarnish DomDom's quality collection of sound files.

I do love the idea that multiple languages worth of material may potentially make it's way into DomDom, but currently DomDom doesn't have provisions for multiple languages. That, and I never anticipated there being multiple sound pack authors. The side effect of there being multiple sound pack authors is that the numbering scheme will no longer be unique, and there's potentially going to be an issue with sound number conflicts. heh heh
