Deus Vox Encounters (DXE) is a boss mod inspired by RDX. It is designed to be functional, efficient, and customizable, so you can change what you want and how you see this addon.

Features

      • Toward: Directs you to run to a player or a location
    • Ability to play a sound when shown
    • Displays your distance, to a player or location, in game yards
  • Encounter Pane
    • Boss health tracking gives you more awareness of fights
    • Engage timer tells you how long you've been fighting
    • Shortcut buttons provides easier access to common commands
    • Conditions to show the pane only when you want to
  • Version Check: View addon and encounter versions of raid members
  • Distribution System: Allows you to send encounters to the raid or individual players
  • Profile System: Switch settings between your characters
  • Modular Design: Encounters are loaded in appropriate zones

Getting Started

When you first login with this AddOn you will see a black transparent rectangle with a blue bar labeled 'Default', called the encounter pane, in the center of your screen. Shift+Click on it to move it. From left to right you will see:

  1. Stop Icon: Halts the current encounter (you should rarely have to do this)
  2. Menu Icon: Opens the configuration dialog
  3. Folder Icon: Opens a drop down menu to activate encounters
  4. Lock Icon: Toggles frame anchors
  5. Windows Icon: Opens a drop down menu to show interface windows

Also, if you ever hide the pane and can't get it to show, type /dxe for commands. There is also a minimap icon, which can open the configuration dialog.

Localizations

Please visit the localization page to translate in-game phrases. It is open to anyone with an account. The most important phrases are the chat triggers for bosses, because they start encounters. However, not all encounters are started by chat triggers. The rest of the phrases are for display purposes. The following languages need a maintainer:

    Any idea on a potential future release to show us how to add/modify encounters? Along with the send feature this could be very interesting.
    Assuming that the lua/xml you are using to define the encounters is basic enough for someone to learn in a relatively quick time?

    I would love to be able to set up my addon for new ICC encounters, then send them to my friends/guildies (that use the addon).

    Encountered following issues @ Anub:

    Penetrating Cold debuff casted twice in a row on the same player makes the raidmark disappear.

    Any idea how we can fix this?

    I fixed this a while ago, it should be working correctly in the latest beta. Make sure only one person in the raid has penetrating cold marking enabled for Anub, otherwise you'll have some marking conflicts. I plan on making it so only one person per raid is marking.

    You don't write where do you prefer feature requests, so here it is: is it possible to make an arrow at General Vezax pointing away from the position where I was when I got a shadow crash, just like how it is like when someone else gets it? I know I suck if I can't see the chat bubble over my own head, but it would be a more consistent display of the same event.

    The addon looks great, and seems to work alright. However I'll be sticking with DBM until you get a spell-timers-esque module for it. I love DBM for that, and allowing me to set it to any spell ID I want.

    It is a great addon though, please keep up the great work.

    Use oRA3 if you want to see spell timer cooldowns. I use it too, so I have no plans to add it into DXE.

    I really like DXE so far, but there is one thing missing that was very useful in DBM. This is more of a combination of features, but on a fight like say, Northrend Beasts, if a group of people got toxin or burning bile, there would be a raid warning including all of the players' names and a chat print-out. DXE doesn't have an option for these casts on others, and the warning setup doesn't let you output to raid warning and chat log at the same time.

    The list of player names in a warning is useful for a tank so I instantly know where to go with my burning bile, the chat output is nice for reviewing the fight if something went wrong.

    Arrows will pop-up telling you where to go if someone needs cleansing. I don't have any plans to add the messages you're talking about, but I'm going to add in some generic raid warnings soon.

  • How do I disable the FFVII fanfare after the boss has been killed? Got sounds turned off on alerts, not sure what I need to do to turn off that jingle.
