DBM 4.29 supports Onyxia and Trial of the Champion/Crusader/Grand Crusader :)

Alpha builds from the SVN are always available on www.deadlybossmods.com.

Website: www.deadlybossmods.com! You will always find the latest version and news about Deadly Boss Mods there.

Features

  • Boss mods for all raid bosses
  • Colored raid warnings (players will be colored according to their class) with icons - so you will know what's going on without even reading the message
  • Auto-respond during boss fights. DBM will inform anyone who whispers you during a boss fight that you are busy. These messages contain the name and health of the boss as well as the raid's status
  • HealthFrame: you can enable a simple frame that shows a health bar for all active bosses. This is enabled by default for multi-mob bosses like Four Horsemen
  • Bars can be enlarged with decent effects when they are about to expire
  • Crash recovery: you had a disconnect or crash during a boss fight? No problem for DBM! It will request the timer and combat status information from other DBM users in your raid group and you get your timers back
  • Synchronization system for accurate timers
  • No dependencies, no embedded libraries (except for the optional LibDataBroker plugin that embeds LibDataBroker)
  • Modular design - all boss mods are plugins and can be exchanged, removed or updated separately
  • Load on demand - all boss mods are separate AddOns and they will be loaded when they are needed. So they don't use memory or cpu until you enter the corresponding instance
  • Efficient code: DBM uses less than 250 kb memory and the cpu usage is also very low
  • Special effects like the screen flash effect, huge warning messages and sounds will draw your attention to critical events
  • Bars can change their color over time and flash before they expire
  • There are many bar designs to choose from, all designs are are customizable: you can change the color, size, icon position etc.
  • Support for SharedMedia, so you can use any texture for your bars
  • Option to create custom timers, so-called "Pizza Timers" for your pizza or whatever you prefer to eat while raiding. You can also send those timers to your raid group
  • Powerful object-oriented API - you can use it to write your own boss mods!

Additional Mods

Slash Commands

  • /dbm - shows/hides the GUI
  • /dbm timer <time> <name> - starts a local timer, the time can be in the mm:ss format
  • /dbm broadcast timer <time> <name> - broadcasts a timer to the raid
  • /dbm unlock - shows a movable timer bar (alias: move)
  • /dbm ver - performs a raid-wide version check
  • /range or /distance - shows the RangeCheck frame

My 14yr old nephew was with a group in, I think, Onyxia's Lair when he started hearing someone speaking. He figured out it was DBM. Then the voice started using the F word. Repeatedly. I use this addon and I've never heard a voice, just sounds, text, and the like. Is this something new for Onyxia? If so, is there a way to turn it off (other than turning the sound off altogether). His mom isn't happy about it. He wasn't on Ventrilio and the voice was telling him to watch for this, get out of that, etc. and using some colorful language as it did so.

These are the sounds from the legendary Onyxia Wipe Animation(watch on youtube)
    To disable it:
    type /dbm
    choose Onyxia's Lair
and disable "Play funny sounds ..."

I recently updated dbm and I went on to do ToC25, we started the fight and my DBM didn't work, it was working fine and all before, I checked up the settings and they were all correct, what place in-game can I go to verify that its running ok, because It's kind of a must have to raid, it really got me to mess up a couple of times (not having it).

    type /dbm

what language client do you play on by chance? n othing should have broke simply by updating, make sure you upgraded and placed all the folders in correct spot, any missing folders could cause certain raids not to work.

Ive been using an add-on called Add-on Control Panel(http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/acp.aspx) which allows me to control add-ons withing the game and i couldn't help but notice DBM is listed as multiple pieces not one main add-on with plugins. Is there any way to get it nested?
    EG
    Deadly Boss Mods
    --Battlegrounds
    --Chamber of Aspects
    --Crusaders Coliseum
    --ETC
    --ETC

    instead of
    Deadly Boss Mods Core
    <DBM> Battlegrounds
    <DBM> Chamber of Aspects
    <DBM> Crusaders Coliseum
    etc
    etc

this will help in situations where i may want to disable DBM fully with one click instead of many, also keeps the interface tidy.
    Thanks!

yeha, thats nothing we can change. You have to talk to the ACP guys, but for informations, If you try to disable / load / whatever DBM SubModules, you will nearly allways feel pain! (what mean, you will see error messages and such stuff)

The latest release it was discovered some warnings on algalon fight might not show, particularly cosmic smash and associated timers, black hole warning apparently this has never worked do to same bug. This is fixed in alpha version. For majority of guilds/users this fix is pretty irrelevant to you then you do not need alpha and current release should have no issues. But if you intend to be doing algalon i highly recommend using current alpha.

  • Yes I am also having a problem getting this addon to show up in my game. I download it just like stated, and un-zip the file in the add-ons file, and nothing. Restarting computer, WoW, I've tried it all. Any suggestions are apprecieated. Thanks

ry to locate your wow installation (sometimes there are 2 of them), you can do that by rightclick on the icon and look for the file path.

When you have the correct wow folder, goto "World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons\" and unzip the files there. You can also use the Curse Updater or any other one to install DBM.

The folder structure should look like:
    "World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons\DBM-Core"
    "World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons\DBM-GUI"
    "World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons\DBM-Coliseum"
    ...

There were some bugs in that alpha upload, particularly the new spam filter is actually backwards (it's on when it's off and off when it's on). Combat start timer might be quirky for NRB and algalon too. if any of these issues effect you there is a newer alpha always available on site :)
