Description

This AddOn has the next functions:
  • It plays a sound alert every time the character performs a critical hit or healing. There are 2 different sound alerts: one for a special attack, called SuperShot, and another one for all the other critical hits and healings. The SuperShot is considered as the most dangerous attack/spell and it must be set in the configuration dialog for each character using the AddOn.
  • It plays a sound alert and/or shows a visual icon every time the character enters/exits combat.
  • It plays a sound alert when Feign Death is resisted.
  • It keeps track of the characters' highest hits and healings with each different attack/spell, the highest hits and healings the player takes and the total amount of damage/healing with each different attack/spell.
  • It optionally shows in the default chat window nearby critical hits and healings higher than a customizable value.
  • Anti-Doping System: now you can restore previous records if you don't "like" the current one by clicking on it in the report lines.
  • Ignore-list: any attack/spell can be ignored.
  • Pet Watcher: Shows a warning message and/or plays a sound alert every time your pet goes below a customizable amount of health.

Notes

  • It should work in all clients, regardless of its language, though the AddOn is only English, Spanish and French localized.

WARNING: Macintosh users:

This AddOn will NOT work correctly in your Mac client because it is using a provided Windows TrueType in its font-types definitions. You will find an alternative fonts definition file (using the game internal fonts) in a folder named "Macintosh". Just move this file to its parent folder overwriting the existing one.

  • Hi, first off this mod is great, works perfectly. The only thing is can you tell me what classifies as a "Normal" crit, "Other" crit, and "Super" crit. Also, when is the beast sound played?
    Thanks

    I don't know what do you mean by normal crits, I think it is the ones you do. The other's ones are the crits other people do around you. And the supershot is just a silly way to name a customizable attack name which is specially watched by the addon to warn you in a more visible way than the normal ones.
    You can get the beast sound by hiting for 666 ;P

    I had to disable it because the 666 alert was going off constantly, driving me bananas. Is there any way to disable this function?

  • Sorry to bother, if it's already been covered. Love this addon, but the "Combat" icon (two big crossed swords over your toon) will not go away. I had to remove the addon. I tried re-installing, and turning off the 'Combat Monitor' option, but it keeps coming back. Even out of combat. Is this a bug, or do I just have to live without CritAlert?

    The Combat Monitor can be totally disabled (sound and icon) with a single checkbox in the Options Dialog. Try to delete ALL the "CritAlert.lua" files in the "SavedVariables" folders (there are several of them) in your WoW FTW folder. If it is not fixed that way, I can only imagine it's another addon which is messing with events-procedure queues or even with frames which are not of its own. In other words, it looks like an addon incompatibility so the only thing to do is to identify that "other" addon and check if it can be fixed or decide which of them is to be used. Good luck.

    @balurion:
    Uncheck the options in the Options dialog.

    @gumbi76:
    Just replace the existing files with those you like.

    When editing the sounds, how do I assign the sound to play whenever I preform a critical strike?

    @xPH3...:
    Of course you can; inside the Addon folder you'll find another one named "Sounds"; inside you'll find all the Addons sounds. You can change them at will. Keep in mind that you MUST restart WoW in order to use the new sounds.

  • Is there a way to alert player when taking a huge hit that the user can define.. like say alert when player takes a 3k dmg?

  • Jeania, In regard to your "proc" request...... If your have or get SCTD (scrolling combat text damage) which is an extension of SCT, you can set up custom displays and sounds to do exactly what you want, when you want, and how you want...

    Ex. Whenever my mage procs hotstreak, I have it set up to play a sound and put "PYRO NOW NUB" in the SCT in huge hot pink letters so i wont miss it.

    *beams and bats her eyelashes* Could you modify and make a Warlocks version? :D :D :D (with the Titan support as well :D)

    It'd be great to not only see crits, but also to see/hear for the procs, too like Nightfall (for example) instead of other addons that do this...I have Dagassist, which I looove....and a summons thing....but I don't have something for that sort of notification that I like...one I tried is bugging atm, and this would be more pefect lol...gives space to my game area, and I love titan addons lol

    *hugs ye* :D
