  • About Combuctor
  •

Combuctor is a bag replacement addon designed to help the player find things in his or her's inventory as quickly and as easily as possible.

Included Addons

  • Combuctor - The main addon. Provides a replacement for both the bank and bag frames
  • Bagnon_Forever - Optional, stores inventory data about your characters so that you can view it later
  • Bagnon_Tooltips - Optional, adds ownership date to item tooltips

Using Combuctor

Filtering

The side filters should be fairly self explanatory. Click to filter to items that match the named category. When you click on a side filter, the bottom tabs will change to allow even finer control Near the bottom left of the screen are filters for quality. Click the color of quality you want to show

Text searching: The filtering matches by name ("healing potion"), type ("axe"), and equip location ("chest")

Showing the bank and bag frames

The bank and bag frames are integrated into the interface by default. You can also set a keybinding for both of them in the keybindings menu. /cbt bank toggles the bank, and /cbt bags will toggle the inventory window

Viewing the data of other characters

Character viewing requires that you have Bagnon_Forever installed (included in the download) and that you have logged onto a character with Bagnon_Forever installed.

To view the items of another character, simply click on your portrait and select the character you want to view from the dropdown

  • Interact with hundreds of thousands of other gamers on an open social network.
  • Post your stories, news, images, videos, and other content to share.
  • Create a network with your fellow gamers or join an existing one.
  • Gain reputation for everything you do.
  • Any chance you could make it so we can create our own categories/edit existing ones. Example I would want a seperate usable tab for only potions, a trade goods on for only type herb.

Also for some reason, I have one stack of tiger lily under All. Three under Trade goods? (total four)
    Otherwise wonderful addon, thank you!

I think I'm going to end up with a way to define filters via the built in search syntax.

  • That would be beautiful :D

  • Thanks man, it's useful to type t:leather and all my hides etc. pop up.

The reason the syntax is in place is because keyword searches were a bit ambiguous.

But it worked better. Who cares if an item with the word 'chest' in it came up when you searched for a chest armor, as long as you only had 3-4items on screen, it was easy to locate. Is it better that now, when you type 'chest', *only* that item with 'chest' in the name comes up, and i don't see any of the chest armors i'm actually looking for? I think you're trying to satisfy your inner programmer's desire for unambiguity, rather than making the interface easy to use.

Is it possible to get the old search behaviour back? I don't want to do complex filtering, and i can't remember the syntax (well, tbh i never learned it because it is nowhere to be found) when i need it. I just want to be able to find an axe or a shield, and typing "shield" (which is the only intuitive thing to do) doesn't find any shields as it used to. Can it at least fall back to the old behaviour when it doesn't find anything, so this addon, again, becomes useful for normal people, who don't want to remember 1000 different programmer's preference for a filtering language?

    The syntax is:
t:, ex t:weapon, to match items of a given type or subtype
q:, ex, q:epic or q:0 to match items of a given quality
, ex, leather to match all items with leather in their name

  • How do you get the tabs of the right side of the frame as shown in the pic above? Mine are on the left and I would rather have them on the right. Thanks for an awesome addon.

far as I know you cannot. most ppl have their bag on the right side of the screen hence the buttons on the left side of the frame.

  • Try typing in this.
    /run CombuctorFrame1:SetLeftSideFilter(false)

It's a great addon, but is it really right that I can't open my bag when I'm in combat? Pretty annoying sometimes.

no that is something else doing that. I have 3 comps here and 2 other ppl that use it and all of us can open bags during combat and move stuff around close it with zero problems.

to confirm its combuctor disable all other mods and try playing with just this mod enabled and see if it does it. if so then come back and post its still doing it maybe the author will look into it.

Fantastic addon, but how do you reset the data? I've even uninstalled the addon, but it's storing the data somewhere that won't be erased. The reason I ask is because I changed a character name and the addon is saying I have double the gold that I really have. So I need to reset the gold counter somehow.

you have to edit or remove the file located in your wow-installation directory \WTF\Account\your account name\SavedVariables\Combuctor.lua

It actually just recreated the file when I did that, complete with bad data! However, if you right click your portrait on the top left corner of your bag, it will give you a list of all your toons, and you can remove them! That is a great feature. I just removed the old name of the toon I renamed, and it seems to be back in correct sync. Really nice addon here. I think I am going to donate to him via Paypal.
