About CooldownTimers3

A sequel of the famous ace cooldown mod CooldownTimers. It tracks the cooldown your ability/spell/item and your pets ability/spells using visual timer bars and pulse icons. Now CooldownTimers3 is powered by Ace3 and a lot of new features will be added soon!

Note: This is still in early-beta status and a lot of elements are still under development, so all kind of tickets, complaintments and suggestions are welcomed. This Alpha version only have LibStub and modified LibCandybar embedded, you'll need ace3 and LibSharedMedia-3.0 lib enabled. Externals will be set once it's near release status.

Installation Guide

Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
  - Windows XP has a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
  - WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
  - WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
  - StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
Start World of Warcraft
Make sure AddOns are installed
- Log in
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.

Translations

When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".

TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)

When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.

If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support

WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

Found a bug where I set my own skill-cooldowns (CDT options) to grow upwards, evento every time I relog or restart wow It will ignore my setting and I have to remove the checkbox and check it again for it to take effect.

Yeah, this one annoyed me too. Open the CooldownTimers3.lua file and search for
["up"] = false,
and turn the false into true. The bars will now grow upwards, but the in-game config will show the box as unchecked.

Playing a little more, it seems that if you untick the option, the bars grow down until you relog. Then they default to growing upwards (even though the box remains unticked).

To fix it properly, open the Options.lua file and search for any line that contains either of the following two
barOptions.up
groups[v].up
and then remove the word "not" from those lines. It will now function as expected :)

i dunno if this is checked regularly or not, but im noticing a real addon lack.
First let me say i cant live w/out CDT3, what i need is another timer bar that shows how long the skill is active. its GREAT knowing how long till i can use bladefurry again... but i REALLY need to see a bar showing me how long blade fury is active for.. QQ plz help

Everything is working fine (shaman, using resto and elemental specs), what i really love in this addon is ability to create custom cd group (i have one for shocks, other for totems, third for LvB/CL/Riptide, etc) and put them where u like.. so i want to know can i put eartbinding now or now i know where to look on my screen for bar (never lost in combat, always know what is going on).. Great idea also to condense skills cd (to example shocks, so instead of 4 bars i have only 1 but with proper icon of shock i just used!).. Cooldown pulse is semiuseful too (there is stand alone mod what is doing only pulse and seems ppls love that)..

However, after switching specs it sometime stop working.. doesn't shows cooldowns for some custom groups at all.. to example, i switch from resto to elemental and until i do relog - i m unable to see totems cd (at all)..

Is there anyone who is going to continue that project? I really tried lots of other mods, but this one is all i need, and i can't find a replacement.

The "Item Cooldowns" section of the settings doesn't display anything because that section of the Options.lua is commented out due to it being broken/not finished. Be nice if some one worked out what needed to be done so people could re-enable it.

In particular I don't want to see my pet CDs. There doesn't seem to be a way to remove a particular bar without simply adjusting the CD time range.

Also, it would be greatly appreciated if the bars could follow the style that most other candy bar timers follow, which is the timer (numbers) on the right end of the bars... or maybe a configuration like Elkano's BuffBars, which let you decide everything.
