  • About Baud Manifest
  •

Summary

With Baud Manifest, you can browse your inventory as a list, instead of the standard bag layout. Categories can be created to organize the list, allowing you to place items as well as other categories within them. Categories can be expanded to view the contents, or minimized to save visual space. The item list can be also sorted or filtered to help you find items. You can also view manifests of other characters, aswell as a combined list of all your characters' manifests.

Using Baud Manifest

After you've installed Baud Manifest, you can access your manifest simply by opening your backpack. You'll probably want to organize it a bit with categories, so it's easier to manage. The easiest way to get started with this is to let Baud Manifest categorize your items based on their item types. To do this, click on the down arrow in the upper right corner of the display, and select "Categorize by Type" from the menu that appears.

Categories

To create a category, click the down arrow in the upper right corner of the display, and click on Create Category. To rename a category, right click on it and type in a name. To delete a category, drag it out of the display and click on the game world, in much the same way you would delete an item.

Moving Items

When you drag an item in Baud Manifest, the largest available stack will be picked up. To select the amount of an item to move, shift-click or shift-drag the item, and select the amount you want to move (Can be more than one stack). To pickup the smallest stack on your character, ctrl-drag the item. To pickup one of the item, alt-drag it. To move all stacks of an item, shift-ctrl-drag the item.

Using the Standard Bag Interface

You can also access the standard bag interface by using the Open All Bags key, using the bag buttons in the manifest, or by disabling the "Replace Blizzard's Bags" option.

  • First of all: Great Addon! A really good approach to get rid of the all present bag chaos. And without a bagframe covering the whole frame.

That said, now a few features that would make me even more happy with the manifest:
    1)
Vote from me for RabidMaxs mail proposal. If autosendig is not easy to implement, maybe one could think about a "Put all items of category into the opened mailbox" - Button (or Drag&Drop category into mail slot).
Something like this would also be great for the bank: Drag&Drop Category to place all of its items in the bank if possible (though there was something about an "auto place in bank" option for single items I read in the .lua file, have to check this out this evening).
    2)
Don't know if I just missed it, but some kind of templating would be nice to not have to create all the categories for every bag frame again. Just create a set of categories and save them as default to be set for each uncategorized bag.
    3)
Equipment set support would be funny: OnClick equip all items in a specific category.
    4)
A DropTheCheapesThing replacement for the default grey and default white item category.

Just minor functions to ease a questers live though, even without them one hell of an addon.

Baud Manifest seems to be mostly working with 3.2; only problem is that it seems the auto-sorting functionality has broken, i.e. grey, white and green items go straight to the inventory unsorted like blue items always have, rather than going to their respectively specified folders.

I would love to see this updated to include Guild Bank functionality. Great job on the add-on, and glad to see it's still being updated.

Very pleased to see this addon updated, thanks Baud!

If you're in the upgrading and feature adding frame of mind, I was wonder if it would be possible to add:
A 'Quest Items' category (along the lines of Put all Quest Items into [dropdown])

Also I love the persistant items functionality, and wonder if it can be extended over the categories. I am sure it's out of the general scope of BaudManifest, but how about setting an option on the category for a 'Mailto'. For instance I could make 3 categories, Herbs, Ore, Cloth, and then set them to mail to my Inscripter, Jewelcrafter, and Tailor respectively. So when I visit a mailbox, shazam, the alts get their correct items with minimal fuss.

I understand if it's too far outside of BM to be considered, but I think it's an awesome extension.

    Thanks and good luck!

Anyone have a problem with big red warning circles over every equipped item?
Not that big of an issue but it is kind of annoying.

    Reply Report Permalink
  • RabidMax said

I would expect most people (incl myself) would have the 'hide equipped items' checkbox checked, so would almost never see the circle.

I've been using baud for a good while now, and I only just noticed it the other day when I was moving around bags of a type that I had some equipped.

I gather it's because the items themselves aren't really available in your bags, so you can't really move them. Is it just the graphic itself that you dislike or the fact it comes up at all?

    Reply Report Permalink
  • Timbu said

It's the size of the graphic that is quite messed up.
If a line of text is 100%, the circles are something like 250% overlapping lines.

Going to check the .lua if I can find anything to remove.

  • Any hope of the author picking this addon back up? or maybe relinquishing it to someone who can maintain it? I love it and can't live without it!

Apart from the annoying dropdown error which I posted a fix for ages back, the addon seems pretty rock solid, so I'm not sure what you're hoping the author to do. It seems Baudzila hasn't done anything on curse since January, so I hope everything is ok with him.

That said, I know I couldn't WoW without Baud Manifest too! Tried it once and hope to never have to repeat the experience heh.

Ok, so after getting flustered with having to move everything around in the Addon, I had just noticed in the forum was a fix...

Read the Post on Jan 26 by Rabidmax "FIX IS HERE"...

Did exactly as the instructions told me to do and sure enough it fixed it.
    No problems anymore..../cheer

  • On another note, I'm also unable to set default categories for items to go in on new characters (strangely its ok for old ones?) I've applied the fix below and I'm still getting error:

Interface\AddOns\BaudManifest\BaudManifest.lua:3483: attempt to index local 'DropDown' (a nil value)

    Fix pls?

  • Update:

I had a friend of mine replicate the error and fix it in the lua file. Basically what he said was is that it searches for your categories, places them in the drop down list and then from there you're meant to be able to pick one, but the lua is telling it to search again. I'd tell you which part of the code to edit but I didn't make a note of it. Perhaps the creator though will know where to find it and can fix it in an upcoming version.

  • BaudManifestSortDropDown_Set ((UIDROPDOWNMENU_OPEN_MENU), self.value, true);

:You're missing a bracket - notice how you have one ) after menu and another at the end of true? Therefor you need two in front.:

Best inventory addon I've ever had the pleasure of using. Thank you!

I'd just like to mention that if you want to use the tooltip border, you can find:
    edgeFile = "Interface\\DialogFrame\\UI-DialogBox-Border",
    and replace with:
    edgeFile = "Interface\\Tooltips\\UI-Tooltip-Border",

    This is on line 3045.

Not sure if anyone mentioned before, but figured others may also dislike the border.
