Okay, so I got tired of dying to random trash mobs and considered what I could do about it, and I thought "the first thing I need to know is when I get aggro", so I made a mod that tells me:

BanzaiAlert

It has options for sound, message, LowHealthFrame flashing, and comes prepacked with a female voice that says "Aggro" when that is the case (from Squishy). It defaults to printing a red warning to your Big Wigs message frame, but also supports SCT5, MSBT, Blizzards FCT and the UIErrorsFrame, where it displays "Aggro from Anubisath Guardian!", for example.

It can also notify you when you lose aggro, if you're a tank, for example. It has an option to disable it when you are playing solo or not.

BanzaiAlert was made as a proof-of-concept implementation for BanzaiLib. It will plug itself into oRA2 as a Participant/AggroAlert module if available.

I've used it for a few raids now, and I don't think I can live without it any more.

The way it works is just scanning your raid for targets and then firing Ace2 events when the target status changes. Currently BanzaiLib supports 4 events: Banzai_UnitGainedAggro, Banzai_PlayerGainedAggro, Banzai_UnitLostAggro and Banzai_PlayerLostAggro, and has 2 API methods: GetUnitAggroByUnitId and GetUnitAggroByUnitName.

After the last update the sound issue is still not working. No sound is being played... eerything else works fine though. Had to use novack's fix to get the sound to be played... however limiting the type of sounds that cld be used. Is there a fix to this anytime soon? Thx!

A quick fix for the sound issue until it's been fixed correctly is to disable the use of SharedMediaLib (which agUnitFrames uses).
    Line 136:
    Replace:
    local sml = LibStub("LibSharedMedia-3.0", true)
    With:
    local sml = nil

What I Really need is a Separate sound file for when I loose agro that would be out standing. Make it easier to tell them apart. Otherwise I really like the mod

  • It'd be even better if it could show me where the aggro was coming from, behind you, right , left, or something similair...

I found that Banzai Alert did not work at all for me until i reloaded my UI once while in game. After that, it worked flawlessly.

What can I do to fix that problem?

I find that after any group members leave or new ones are added, banzai alert needs to be suspended/reenabled to begin working again.

Great addon, with the exception of this minor annoyance. Keeps my cloth classes alive. Keep up the good work.

I don't hear a sound, neither do I get a message in sct/bigwigs. Addon is loaded and settings are ON. Any idea? Is there a "test" option how it should look like if it worked? For debugging purposes?

EDIT: I should have opened my eyes, the message exists but is hidden by the chat and fight windows.

Would it be possible to make it flash in the middle of the screen at a chosenn emplacement?

Really useful mod.I wad used to aggro Alert, but it died  :-(

2 "problems": 1) I do not have the warning indicating I am taking aggro flashing in the middle of my screen. Although, the text is programmed to flash in the options.

    2) is it possible to change the voice or include juste a "boing" when getting aggried ?

Ths and Happy new year !

    Are you using Bongos2?
From extensive testing, I've found that version 1.9.5 of Bongos breaks BanzaiAlert.
Without it, works like a charm.

    Love this addon. :D

    Got a request though.
As a healer in party/raids it is crucial to let the MT/OT know if you get aggro. It would be great if you could get a function, disabled by default, that do a /rw and tell the group/raid you've got aggro. My solution at the moment is that when I get the warning from BanzaiAlert, I press my macro-button (wich containt only the "/rw I've got aggro" text).
