Important This addon is now obsolete since the functionality has been merged to BadKitty 1.9.1. Don't install this addon if you use BadKitty 1.9.1 or later versions. Thanks to MeisBarry for merging it into badkitty

This addon is an extension to BadKitty, and requires that BadKitty is installed in order to function properly.

The purpose of this addon is to give easy and visible warnings if you are not hitting something useful. The addon informs about problems by coloring the background of the badkitty bar frames.

  • red color = out of range
  • yellow color = either not behind target or facing the wrong way
  • blue color = target is not hostile
  • gray color = target is dead

This addon is mainly made as a "proof of concept", which is why there is not configuration or customization possibilities . If the author of badkitty like to merge this functionality into badkitty, i will gladly drop this addon.

Update:

I think a little update is appropriate after some time with no updates.

I seem that MeisBarry like this feature and will take it into Badkitty. When this happens this addon will die.

Im using this addon my self all the time, and find that it is very usefull. I havent encountered any problems so no need for a update. I would be glad hear feedback from people that uses the addon!

I thought of adding another color when aggro is on a non-tank. This will be useful both for tanks and dps. Dps can use it to know when they should start dps and tank can see if target is tanked by either them self or another tank. Then they can growl if aggro goes to a dps. This is still in the idea phase

    Hiya,

Real life, a new pc, and the need for a WoW break has caused me to not update BadKitty for ~2 months. Now back, I am fixing it up for 3.2 (it works fine in 3.2, but you know how it is :P). So, I'm just here to let you know that I WILL be merging the two addons. That way everyone can enjoy this addition.

    So yeah :)

  • Im aware that target dummies turn blue. It is because target dummies are "not hostile" even when you attack them. I dont understand the logic behind blizzards choice here. Maybe they dont think the target dummies are hostile because the will not attack you :-)

I can bypass it by testing on if its a target dummy but i have chosen not to do it since i wanted to keep the addon lightweight more than using cpu to test this. Performance hit (on testing)is not that big, but since warning colors is not usefull when playing with dummies, i havent changed it yet.

If it turns out that people thing its a big problem i will change it.

    Thanks for the response:-)

I don't know if this was intended, but the frame turns (and stays) blue when attacking target dummies.
