  • About Annoying Spam Blocker
  •

/annoying or /annoy can be used

You may add/remove search "strings" easily. When a string is added, the addon will make sure that any chat messages containing any of the search strings you have specified will not be shown in your chat window.

Very handy for servers with a lot of spamming with items such as "Dirge" or "Warglaive of Azzinoth" etc.

This addon is still being developed, though should be working correctly. Please report any bugs or errors, and feel free to come with suggestions.

Your absolutely right, typo from my side. It has been corrected.

It is a blacklist addon yes :)

  • "...will be shown in your..."

    Is it supposed to be:

"...will be not shown in your...?"

Just curious... is this addon a "whitelister" or "blacklister?"

    Thanks

Installed it but get a error when I try to add any string (either by typing the word or adding a link):

AnnoyingSpamBlocker.lua:37:bad argument #1 to 'getn' (table expected, got nil)

I have uploaded a new version that should resolve these problems. Please read the change log.

  • I was wondering if u could add an option to issue a GM ticket with the names, times and short line of spam item used.

  • Thanks for a nice add-on. Very useful that you can adjust it to the "spam of the day"...may it be dirge or thunderfury or whatever :s

The problems I mentioned in the comment here before seemed to be solved now. :o I tried the addon with all other addons disabled on a new character and i didn't get an error anymore. When I switched to my "real" character again I didn't get one either but I used the "reset" argument to be sure and I'm not sure what did the trick but it works now. :)

Can you tell me, are the strings we add to the list case sensitive?

  • deCarnac said

I have tried this potentially very useful addon (v1.02), and I am curious about which channels it does/doesn't filter. I added strings and did some limited testing:

    Say channel was properly filtered.
Yells, Whispers & Battleground chat were not filtered.

Not sure if this is a bug, "working as intended", or user error?

  • Keion said

It is intended, but I want to make it configurable so users can decide what channels to be filtered. Just very busy these days.
