Mod by Blamdarot.

This addon takes screenshots of important events in your WoW life. It can automatically take a screenshot when you earn an Achievement, when you Level Up, and when you reach a Reputation Milestone (example: when you cross the Neutral -> Friend threshold).

COMING SOON: It will soon be able to take screenshots at the end of arena matches and battlegrounds. Only want screenshots when you win? That'll be an option!

To open the options panel, type /as or /screenshotter. Here you can select which of the three event types (Achievements, Level Ups, and Rep Milestones, battlegrounds, arenas) that you want screenshots of.

There is an option to hide the UI while taking screenshots. This option will only hide the UI for Level-ups, Reputation Milestones, battleground endings, and arena endings. (Hiding the UI for Achievements would remove the visual indication that an Achievement was earned.) This option is OFF by default. To turn it ON, go to the Options panel (/as) and check the appropriate checkbox.

== FAQ ==

I got this and set it up just to take screenshots of the achievements, nothing else. But it didn't work for me. When I got my knucklesandwich achievement, fortunately I went ahead and took a manual screenshot just in case this program didn't work right... and sure enough it didn't.

The addon is enabled and also "load out of date" is checked in wow addons options. It just didn't work for me.

I had precisely the same experience, but I wonder if taking the manual screenshot overrode the automatic one? I will do some more testing.

    Hi.
As you said to squishymaster, you have no idea of where the screenshots are stored.

I really wanna know that myself. It would be nice to actually know where they are.

  • Actually I do know where it is, its just that WoW auto saves screenshots there with a number generated based on, I think, what screenshot number that is and not just counting your screenshots I think everyones screenshots, but maybe not.

If you go to My Computer, C drive, Program Files, World of Warcraft, you will see a folder called Screenshots. They are all in their.

My suggestion was to have it save screenshots under another set of sub-folders that would be based on character the shot was taken of. The problem is the screenshot is actually auto made and saved by the WoW client and not by the addon so you can't really make it do that. I'm still trying to think if there might be a way to make it happen, but so far doesn't seem likely.

    Hi,
This seems like a great addon; I am going to try it now. One request I have, would it be possible to add the option to take screenshots when you kill a Boss mob in 5/10/25/40 main instances?

    Thanks,
    BJR

  • Addon works fantastically. I got it just before 80 and have been enjoying it ever since. My only suggestion I think would be easy to setup but I don't code so no idea.

Would it be possible to have it setup a folder under the screenshots folder for each character you have so that when it takes a SS it'll save it under their folder? It would make it even better then best :)

  • Great suggestion! That would be cool.

Unfortunately, AFAIK, I have no way of controlling where the screenshots are stored. If I find new information about that, I'll keep your suggestion in mind.

  • Very nice add-on, No more worrying about taking SS of the Achivements I get, would it be possible to add an automatic SS of the Arena end game pannel ?

  • I'll look into this and try to incorporate it in the next release.

  • The release version 3.0 is slightly bugged. When I load WoW it says Out of Date. Is there a way I can fix that or are you releasing a new version soon?

  • I've solved the issue you reported and uploaded a new version.

  • Strange. The mod works just fine with the current version of the game. I'll check into why WoW thinks it is out of date.

For now, you can tell WoW to "Load Out of Date Addons".

  • Hello, everyone!

No bugs were reported in the 3.0 BETA2, so I'm bumping it up to a Release version.

Please let me know if you have any problems, I'll fix them ASAP.

Also, if you have any feature requests, tell me about them and I'll see what I can do. :)

    Cheers!

  • Thank you for all the feedback!

    Future plans:
    - implement screenshots taken for reputation milestones
    - implement options frame where the user can select which events they want screenshots taken of

Works, but screenshot is taken too fast, before achivement even pop on the screen. You need like 1-2 seconds delay.

  • Thanks again. The bug didn't appear on all machines, but hopefully the fix will work on all (or at least, most) machines.

Let me know if you have any more problems. I really appreciate the feedback.
