Description

AcceptDailies automatically accepts a specified list of quests when the quest giver is selected. Currently that list holds daily quests that have been interesting to me and is fixed (but easy to edit). Eventually I hope to allow in-game editing of the list of auto-accepted quests; in the mean time I'm willing to add more quests to the addon, or you can pop it open and edit the array in AcceptDailies.lua.

Usage

Right-click on quest-giver NPCs. Watch the magic. There's nothing else to it.

You can temporarily disable automatic quest acceptance by holding the shift key while opening the gossip/quest frame. This should help work around A) bugs in my code and B) situations where you temporarily don't want to accept quests. Be sure to hold down the shift key at each click in the process, otherwise the progress events will trigger automatic acceptance even if the initial click didn't.

You can permanently (until toggled back) disable AcceptDailies with the slash command:
    /ad disable
and re-enable it with:
    /ad enable
If the command /ad conflicts with another addon you can also use /acceptdailies.

Roadmap

Coming Features:

  • I fully intend to add the ability to cmd-click (or shift-click/etc.) quests into the accept-dailies queue. That should both make this addon more useful for people who aren't me AND make it compatible with other languages. I hope to have this update done shortly after classes are out (i.e. after Thanksgiving) but I'm not making an promises yet.

Possible Features:

(If I'm properly motivated to learn how to write a configuration UI, or can find some appropriate code to steal)

  • Make the bypass modifier key user-configurable
  • Make the bypass modifier key invertible, so the default does nothing and click-with-modifier activates automatic acceptance
  • Add an in-game-modifiable list of quests to be automatically accepted
  • Make the quest list invertible, so that the default accepts everything and only listed quests are not automatically accepted

Known Bugs

None that I'm aware of (though the addon is dead simple, so that's not as impressive/arrogant as it might seem). Please let me know if you disagree.

Heres a listing of my tournament dailies with a few quests you dont have.
I noticed that after i altered the lua that the curse client stop recognising the rev number and marked it as "Dev" which is a bit awkward if you use the client to update your mod's

    Thanks, I'll get those added.

I've got a plan for in-game modification (and mutli-language support) I just don't have time to code it -- I haven't even had time to play lately. But they're still on my list, so eventually you should be able to do this yourself without breaking Curse Client.

No. I've figured out how to do persistent storage and slash commands, so I suppose it wouldn't be that hard to rig up, but haven't been playing or coding much now that Fall semester is in full swing (full-time work + full-time school make for a busy Zach).

It's still on my list though. You'll see a 2.0 release when it's ready.

Other than the hard-coded quest titles though, I don't think there's anything preventing this from working for any language; the addon is pretty simple.

I'm not sure off the top of my head how to identify quests in a language agnostic way, though I suspect there's probably some QuestID or something I could use instead.

That does make it difficult to support in-game add/delete, as the quest title likely cannot be translated to an ID out-of-band. But maybe there's some sort of modify-click thing I could do while you're in the quest pane.

In any case, I'll keep internationalization in mind next time I poke at AcceptDailies.

Sounds like a great addon, i've put it on my favourites and will use it once you can pick which quests it works for ingame
