  • About Quartz
  •

Quartz is a modular approach to a casting bar addon. An overview of (hopefully most of) the modules:

*Player

The core of Quartz is lightweight implementation of a standard casting bar, with configurable size, text and icon positioning, and colors.

*Target/Focus

Implementation of target and focus casting bars in similar fashion to the player cast bar.

*Buffs

Display of target and focus buffs and debuffs as duration bars using the new API introduced in patch 2.1.

*Flight

Hooks into FlightMap or InFlight to display the current flight progress on your casting bar.

*Global Cooldown

Displays a tiny spark-bar to show your Global Cooldown near the cast bar. Helpful for those who'd rather not squint at their action bars to see when they can cast again.

*Interrupt

Changes the color and text of your casting bar to help show that your cast has been interrupted (and show who interrupted it).

*Latency

Displays the amount of time spent between cast send and start events, in the form of a bar at the end of your casting bar, with optional text that displays the actual duration of the lag. This helps in canceling casts when they will not actually be interrupted, especially for users with consistently high pings.

*Mirror

Shows the 'basic' timers such as breath and feign death, as well as some 'odd' ones such as party invite time, resurrect timeout, and arena game start, and a framework for injecting custom timers into the bars.

*Range

Recolors the casting bar when your cast target moves out of range mid-cast.

*Swing

Displays a swing timer for your melee weapon as well as hunter autoshot.

*Timer

Allows for creating custom timers displayed on the mirror bars.

*Tradeskill Merge

Merges multiple casts of the same tradeskill item into one big cast bar.

Use /quartz to bring up the configuration menu.

  • Been trying to make InFlight play nice with Quartz. So far, the only thing happening is that when I take off from a Flight point, quartz show the flight time to be 1 second, and then the flight timer moves to InFlights own timer. Am I missing something obvious?

Can you move the bar ?

  • Yes you can. I assume you mean your cast-bar? Type /quartz to bring up the options menu, click on "Player" and then uncheck the "Lock" option.

  • For some of my toons, Quartz requires two logins to load. The first time I login, typing "/quartz" gives me a configuration menu with only 2 or 3 lines and I see the standard Blizzard cast bar. I logout and immediately login again, everything's as it's supposed to be. Any ideas?

Is there a way to turn off certain buffs/debuffs?

I play a shadow priest and I want to track VT/SW:P/DP but I dont want to track Misery/MF/Mind trauma.

I have looked all over but I haven't been able to find a way to disable the ones I dont want to see.

  • The only thing I'm not liking about Quartz is that some of the modules have more to them than others. Like for example, the Swing Bar. Good little bar. Movable (with some difficulty). Customizable. Flight ? Nothing but a colour and an enabled-disabled box. Anyone know how to work the Flight bar so that I can see the flight bar ? Cuz right now, I'm in flight, no bar anywhere. =\

  • Do you use InFlight or FlightMap? Quartz in itself is not an addon to track flight time, but it should hook into InFlight or FlighMap addons to show the flight timer.

  • P.S.2: I noticed this only happens (Moonfire icon) when I heal with it (used either on myself or others). Shows the normal Penance icon when I use it to deal damage on mobs / players :/

  • Hey. I've been browsing around to find and answer to my issue but didn't find any related post... So here we go: any idea on why Penance icon has changed into Moonfire icon? All I know it became this way after some mob interupted my spells with shield bash or something and it hasn't changed ever since, even if cleared cache, deleted WTF and even reinstalled the add-on. My deepest gratitude to whomever helps me get Penance icon back :) Ty in advance, Laura

  • is there anyway to have the "fatigue" and "breath" bars show in the player cast frame?

For some reason I'm unable to change the border color for my cast bar. It's set to WoW dialog to match the rest of my UI. Anytime I change it, it goes right back to the default color.

What in God's name are these 2 little cast bar/line/dot/things and how do I get rid of them? http://yfrog.com/5jwtfquartzj

Imageshack wouldn't show me your images, but I'm guessing they are the swing timer and the GCD spark.

If you open the quartz config, you should see a Global Cooldown item and a swing timer item. Just disable them to get rid of it.
