The Quick Description

+ button creates unit frames

- button removes unit frames

hunter's mark button sets the unit tracked by the frame

white line is 1 GCD in relation to Lifebloom

border turns colors when poisoned / cursed

options are found in WoW's Interface Options menu

And now on to the full description...

Getting Set Up

use:

/lb } for menu

/lb s } to show

/lb h } to hide

/lb l } to lock the window and hide buttons

Once you have it shown, click on what you want your frame's target to be. Then click the middle button next to the frame, this will set the frame's target to whatever your current target is. If your current target is not in your raid you will need to use /focus on that target before clicking the target selection button (this is because there is no other unit id for such a unit). You may add unit frames using the + button to the left of each frame and you may remove unit frames using the - button.

Editing options for Lifebloomer are located in WoW's Interface Options menu.

Usage

You will notice that the lifebloom bar will turn from blue, to purple, to red. ideally, you will reapply lifebloom when the bar turns purple, this purple region indicates when lifebloom has 1 second plus your lag left. if you cast it when the bar is purple, your previous lifebloom will get it's 5th tick in before the next one is applied. when the bar turns red (1 second left) you know that lifebloom will run out very soon if not promptly reapplied. Do not wait until the last millisecond to cast lifebloom because your lag will cause you to lose your stacks. Also, there is a red overlay which indicates the global cooldown, you should be able to cast again as soon as this bar completely disappears.

Note

It is possible to stack lifebloom on up to 4 targets and no more (unless you stack spell haste), this requires a very active player and no "line of sight" issues. However doing so will drain your mana fairly fast so you don't want to do this if you do not have to. By paying attention to each tank's DTPS you should be able to judge how many hots you need on them, if any at all.

    two other things...there is a german-local here: http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/10100/
maybe you could just include it to avoid problems.

And if bloomer hasn't got a certain target and if the player has no target it would be cool to watch the player...

  • June 30, 2008, 01:08AM (2 weeks, 5 days ago)

I actually used that german version to create the german locale that is used in versions 1.5 and up.

I'll admit that it would be cool for lifebloomer to be able to watch the player or player's target depending on whether the player has a target, but I do not think this is possible since the unit ID has to be set before entering combat. the unit ID being either "target" or "player". ... hold that thought ... i'm thinking... if you were to have a target frame on top of the player frame and only have the target frame visible when you have a target... this could work, but it'd be tricky.

If it is possible to code this so it works with Healbot it would be fantastic.

  • June 26, 2008, 08:22PM (3 weeks, 1 day ago)

it may or may not be possible, I'll have to take a look at Healbot's code.

could you add a aupport for the 3 other mouse-buttons plz ?

  • June 19, 2008, 05:07AM (4 weeks, 1 day ago)

The addon clique will do this for you. and do it a lot better. Its sole purpose is click casting so you can't get much better than that.

  • June 21, 2008, 10:07AM (3 weeks, 6 days ago)

yeah I know clique but I'm one of those who use healbot instead of grid+clique. I'd like to avoid using clique just for one function in one mod...

  • June 21, 2008, 04:07PM (3 weeks, 6 days ago)

hm.. so does clique not work with healbot?

  • June 22, 2008, 11:12AM (3 weeks, 5 days ago)

healbot has a clique-feature already included...for all mouse-buttons and modifiers

  • June 22, 2008, 04:49PM (3 weeks, 5 days ago)

okay, well, I dont think i'll have time to fully develop a good click casting feature, however i may be able to tap into healbot's so that if you have healbot it'll use the same click assignments (if you so choose).

  • June 22, 2008, 06:16PM (3 weeks, 5 days ago)

never looked into the clique-codes but it is more difficult to add the mousebutton 3 and 4 than 1 and 2 ?

The healbot solution would be fine although I'd prefer different setting for those two mods^^

    Do what you like/able to/have time...thanks anyway,great mod

  • June 22, 2008, 09:14PM (3 weeks, 5 days ago)

well no, its not really more difficult to add 3, 4, and 5 than it was to do 1 and 2 (just I bunch of copy-pasting I should think)... I guess I'm just making excuses at this point. I'll see what I can do for adding those buttons (I have yet to figure out how to add a scroll bar in the Interface Options panel in order to gain the space needed for those extra options).

  • June 26, 2008, 07:12PM (3 weeks, 1 day ago)

If you had it work with Healbot that would be very helpfull.

Is there a reason you're not responding to my note?

sorry, I had not noticed your message, responding now...

I love this addon, but my only quibble about it is the layout of the bars. I think that if it was possible for it to be in a more Grid-esque layout, or even customizable like Grid, it would be easier to do "raid" healing.

I.e. instead of the bars going straight up the screen, they would be grouped by parties automatically in a box-type of layout.

  • June 10, 2008, 03:44AM (1 month, 1 week ago)

the original intent of this addon was to provide you with tank frames. now, many people have suggested that I make it possible to use for raid healing as well. this would require a small overhaul of the current code I have now. Before I do this I want to look into converting to Ace since many people feel like that is more secure. Also, I've heard of grid-plugins which I may take advantage of to provide people with a Lifebloomer style raid layout (not sure of the logistics of how this is done though).

One thing I am afraid of is that, because so much information is displayed in each Lifebloomer bar (DTPS in particular), all those calculations could give people FPS issues in a 25/40 man raid/BG.

  • June 15, 2008, 03:55AM (1 month ago)

I prefer Ace as well, but I also have no issues with Lifebloomer causing any FPS problems. I would just like to be able to configure the layout of the frames instead of them being in a static "straight up the screen" format. =)

At some point I'll probably try to figure out how to Ace this addon. I'll also keep the reformatting issue near the top of the to-do list.

This is an awesome addon! Thanks for spending the time making it.

Any chance of adding a "/lb party" type command that would automatically add every party member and pet to the Lifebloomer window? I'm finding that I am healing in groups out questing and in instance runs, and every time hand-add every member and pet...

    If you can, thanks much!
