  • About Battleground Leecher Reporting
  •

Battleground Leecher Reporting will assist with reporting those players who are AFKing/Leeching in a battleground. When you hit the "Check Leechers" button you'll be provided with a list of (5 at a time) current suspected leechers who you can then choose to report or "ignore".

Reported players are instantly reported using the new PVP AFK reporting feature in 2.2. Ignored players are removed from the list until the next leecher check.

The addon obviously cannot be fully tested until 2.2 is released, but if you want to give it a whirl on the test servers and report bugs so that it's ready for patch day then go ahead!

Enjoy :)

NB: PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS REGARDING THE ETHICS OF LEECHING FOR ANOTHER TIME AND PLACE. KEEP THE COMMENTS CLEAN AND ADDON RELATED!

  • Are people actually getting reported for AFK with the addon? I can report somebody who I know is AFKing, but they never get the debuff even after I call out the AFKer to the /bg channel. If I do this through the map or the raid listing, it works, though. Maybe it's just me?

The idea behind it is great, though, but it could easily handle a couple more features, like: 1. Reporting all AFKers with one click. 2. Reporting known AFKers after the first minute or two of battle rather than waiting 5 (which would mean storing their names and the ability to edit the list). 3. The ability to move the button around a little easier. There is like 1 pixel's width to grab, LOL 4. Announcing to the battleground the names of AFK people and which group number and/or location to make it easier for other players to report.

I have noticed one bug, though. Sometimes after you click the button and the list comes up, after you close it, the button is no longer viewable. I'm sure you could issue the /bglr command, but I never tried.

As for the design and layout, I think you've done a great job. Well done!

Opens when I go in arenas, and doesn't scale / do all the pretty things that ace addons generally do. Works well though, looking forward to a new version that has more options.

    Tarz;

    TY VERY MUCH.

Looking forward to "a button to auto-report all the 0/0 people".

Thanks again for your work here,

    Pel

Now I've seen how the function works in the real world (Ie, they didn't change it for final release) I can add a button to auto-report all the 0/0 people. I don't think I'll add autoreporting on the others since it sometimes takes a bit of personal judgement to see if they're leeching or not.

/bglr doesn't work anymore - you're right on that. I'll clean up the interface a touch and release a final 1.0 as soon as I can get around to it. Got a sister in law that's ready to drop my first niece so bit of a hectic schedule atm ;)

    Hey,

Very nice ty much for this.

Do we have a 'REPORT ALL' feature?

It seems that may be helpful.

Maybe just 5 at a time or whatever you decide is appropriate.

    Thanks again!

Glad to hear it's working for you guys - was a bit of a worry that patch day would roll along and it'd go to hell! lol

You can move the "Check Leechers" button by dragging JUST outside of the button - the frame (although invisible) is about 5 pixels extended past the button itself. Gonna make that a bit friendlier in a future version (and give some way to "close" the button - you don't need it in every BG every time :o). I'll possibly look into how to code "yet another" minimap button and get it on there instead - I feel that'd be a more appropriate home rather than taking up valuable screen real estate.

I'd love to put a scrollbar on the leecher report window, but I have to confess I wouldn't have the foggiest how to go about it. I never mastered dynamic lists with scrollbars :( As it stands now, when you report or ignore those 5 you see on the list they're replaced with the next batch. Any you "ignore" are re-added next time you check for leechers.

Some observations I made while using this mod today in AV

Listing 5 people in the BGLR window is too few. Maybe list more and put in scroll bars or an option to only show ppl that have done zero dmg and healing.

Future feature request. BGLR can monitor player dmg and healing and notify you if someone has not done any dmg or healing in say 5 minutes. This needs to take into consideration if someone just joined the BG. Cahnces he will spend at least 5 min running to the battle.

Other than that, the mod works well. Thanks for writin it :)

  • love it! works good, too.

only two things: - how do i move the check leechers button?`it's stuck in the middle of the screen for me. the opened window when i click on it it movable.

    - in 3 AV the button disappeared after some time, no idea why and how i could get it back.

great add on though, keep going!

Well lets say you are right, which i doubt. WoW's new anti-leatch system only puts a debuff on the person so they don't get honor, but once they engage in a real fight that debuff will be removed, so worse case is if some one (in your straw man) was reported x number of times and got the debuff and they were in fight, then the debuff would instanly be removed, so no harm done, the only ones it really would get are the cave farmers.

lots of AV take less than 20 min and end with 400-500 honor. unless you purposely hang back on defense you WILL NOT see any opposition players to kill, just the npcs. Also, lvl 61s+ can enter, with correspondingly less damage.

if you think everyone with less than 40,000 (or 20,000 after just the first few min when SH/IB are hit) is a "leecher" you need you head examined.

I tend to add variables into my second releases once testing is out the way - the leech "line" is definately something I want to be configu
