  • About Auto Combat Log
  •

Auto Combat Log will enable logging to the WoWCombatLog.txt whenever you are in a dungeon with a raid. It will disable logging upon leaving the raid or the dungeon.

This was created because I kept forgetting to start the log for Wow Web Stats. This addon takes care of that brain fart.

Aha! Downloaded this mod to fulfill the very purpose you described.

Lightweight mod, does what it says on the tin. Fantastic.

Beats trying to remember to type /combatlog everytime I disconnect.

WoW Web Stats is a tool that allows guilds to track their raid's performance far beyond standard healing and damage meters. You upload your combat log with a java client, and the report is generated. In game, you can have your combat log saved to a file (Wowcombatlog.txt in your log directory) by typing /combatlog. Typing this command again will disable logging.

All this mod does is automatically save your combat log to that file for you whenever you enter a raid dungeon (note: you must be in a raid - this is to prevent heroic dungeons from triggering the log), and then turn it off for you when you leave the raid. It's for people, like myself, who sometimes forget to flag this on (or just don't want to have to remember).

  • Is this mod still available? It is not letting me download it.

  • Would it be possible for this to be updated to work within 5 mans to?

I'm currently using this in conjunction with WoW web stats, which I would also highly recommend for any serious raiding guilds, it makes a nice breakdown of all damage done, dps, healing, ect..

I could add 5 man heroics pretty easily. I'm not sure how I'd set up a flag for that, haven't done many mods. Let me look into it.

I've started having a problem with this mod very recently (within the last week or so.) If I disconnect while inside a raid instance, logging is NOT coming back on when I reconnect. I've disconnected both in and out of combat and both times the log failed to start up again.

That can happen, what's going on is if you aren't in a raid group when you get the welcome to the instance message, it won't turn on. I'm thinking of disabling this feature. The end result would be you would get logging turned on for heroics, so you'd have to delete said logs. Kind of a hastle if you don't want them. When I get some free time, I'll try to think of a better way (although, ideas are welcome).

I just finished testing version 2.0 which has the following features:
    - Combat Logging will now turn on if you enter a raid after already being in an instance (fixes the disconnect issue)
    - Combat Logging now is disabled when you exit an instance (no more "noise" from pets, etc.)
    - Combat Text now displayed when Logging is turned on or off (in addition to the Chat Frame Message)
    - No more updates on "Combat Was Not Being Logged" or "Combat Already Being Logged" (new behavior removes need for these)

    - Arilea

P.S. Version 2.0 will still not log for heroics. A flag to enable that may be coming, but I'm not sure when.

http://www.after-battle.com is another site to parsing your log.

Don't worry about 5,10 or 25 because that parser split logs and can detect bosses and delete the trash.

    Bonjour,
