- About TBag-Shefki
This is the long awaited update to TBag that fixes a number of bugs.
TBag is a WoW Addon that provides an alternative bag and bank interface. It was built by modifying Engbags an addon who has essnetially the same functionality is missing some of the features of TBag.
Talos the original author of Tbag his this to say about it when he released it:
"In addition to the auto-sorting you've come to know and love, I've added many new features, including searching for items (in mail, etc.) You can also see and use the original default UI bags, which have slots free overlaid on top of them. There are also many convenience features, like highlighting new items, colored spotlighting, and purchase bank bags without having to unload the addon. A visual edit mode allows you to rearrange categories to your taste, and an advanced customization window enables you to completely configure every aspect of TBag."
This is a modification of his 070123 release for WoW 2.0.3. The modifications were done by Shefki. See the Changelog file for details of the changes I made. The ToDo.txt file consists of ToDo items that were found in the original TBag release. Some of them are not terribly relevent to my my intentions, some I'm unclear on what he meant and others seem to have already been fixed. See my Todo List below.
Getting Started
TBag can only "see" something you've seen, so for every character:
1) Open your bags 2) Go to the bank 3) Check your mail 4) View your body 5) Open all your trade windows
This allows you to view the bag and bank contents of your characters at any time (sorted according to their trade skills) by clicking the name dropdown in the upper right. It also enables you to do a full item search from the search textbox just to the left of the name dropdown.

marikris saidJust a question: is there any possible explanation why I can't open my bags? I have it bound to "B" and, though I hear the bags opening, I don't see it appear...I can open the bank bag just fine though since I have it set to "Shift+B".

Shefki saidAn -Alpha version has been posted on curseforge.
http://wow.curseforge.com/projects/tbag-shefki/
This version is compatible with Wrath. But is an incomplete rewrite of TBag that contains some old and new code. That said it's what I've been using on Live and Beta for quite some time with only a handful of issues.
I encourage you to read the Changes/Caveats carefully. To report problems please file tickets on curseforge and look for issues already representing the problem you're having before opening a new ticket.
Thanks and enjoy.

Shefki saidThought I'd drop everyone a line to let you know the status of the addon.
I'm doing a major rewrite of almost all of the addon. Which will when finished result in a smaller addon with all of the existing functionality as well as making it easier to add a number of features you all have been asking for.
I've also had a chance to get on the WoTLK expansion beta servers and have made changes to make TBag function over there.
I hope to have a new version out with all of these improvements sooner rather than later but I have no specific timeframe nailed down at this time.

Adiora saidHello :)
I was trying to look up instructions on customizing EngBags, when I saw a recommendation to switch to Tbag. I like it very much so far. However, I still have some questions about setting up the customization:
1) When adding custom category you want to overrule all others, you create it at the bottom of the list then click the up arrow several hundred times to move it to the top of the list. When creating several categories like this, i.e. for various gearsets, the button-clicking can get very tedious. Is there a way to expedite this process?
2) I have mine set up so that most of the pools hold very few specific categories. All the others I put into a single pool so I will notice when I have something unexpected to categorize. However, this pool now holds several dozen categories, and it is impossible to access the whole list of them in order to move one of the categories to a new pool.
3) I spent more time than I care to admit getting my bag set up perfectly, and now I face the daunting task of setting up my bank in the exact same format. Is there a way to import the custom settings from the bag to the bank of the same toon?
4) This is just a tiny tweak, from me being lazy. Is there a way to move an entire category of items from the bag to the bank and back again? I would be nice to be able to move my entire "feral_gearset" category from one to the other in one step. But like I said, that's a very minor detail.
5) Once you get the mod customized, do those setting have to apply to every character on the server? Can you keep some settings and change others?
Thanks for the great addon :)

Shefki saidThanks for the feedback. These are largely all known issues/limitations. Things I hope to address with a major configuration rework that I'm working on.
1) Yes that's the only way and yes it sucks. Sorry. Was that way when I took over the addon, I hate it, it will change.
2) If you mean the issue where the menus end up off the screen when trying to recategorize a single item... Yes I'm aware of the issue. A large part of the reason for that is that the original code for that dates back to EngBags which had far fewer bars and categories.
3) Not currently through the standard UI but I can give you a script that will help you.
Will copy just the category/bar mapping and the search list:
/run TBagCfg.Bnk.catbar = TBagCfg.Inv.catbar; TBagCfg.Bnk.item_search_list = TBagCfg.Bnk.item_search_list
To completely and utterly copy the entire config you can do:
/run TBagCfg.Bnk = TBagCfg.Inv
However, that will move the bank right on top of the inventory and may drag some settings you don't want copied along.
Strongly recommend you backup your config before messing with this.
4) Nope, this is actually first time anyone has actually asked for that. I'll consider adding it but I mostly think it's beyond the scope in which I want to take the addon.
5) Yes it applies to no characters. No there's no profile system to let you have differences between characters. I know this sucks. This will change. Again this is largely an issue because of the lineage of the addon coming from EngBags where it could have a separate config for each char and moving to something where the inventory cache had to be shared.
Again thanks for the feedback. Everything except 4 is already scheduled to be changed in the future.

Adiora saidThanks for the quick reply. The script worked like a charm.
I haven't messed with it much more beyond what I've already set up, but I did notice one strange bug. My enchanting dusts, essences, and shards were in the wrong pool. I went into Edit, left clicked on the group to select the Enchanting category, and moved it to the correct pool. Nothing happened. I tried a few things, and finally moved the category Trade1 to the intended pool, and all my enchanting supplies moved. I tried manually reassigning the items to Enchanting, but despite the tooltip of the group showing Enchanting, they only moved with Trade1. I even went into Advanced Config, moved Trade1 below Enchanting, and deleted the words Trade1, and the behavior remains unchanged.

Shefki saidThat's actually not a bug. Your current tradeskills will always be TRADE1 and TRADE2 on each character. Think of the normal name as just being renamed to TRADE1 or TRADE2 for the current character. The way this works and is implemented is also likely to change. Right now there's no good way to turn this feature off.

songokussm saidhey Shefki,
as always your right, i got used to the new changes. However i am experiencing an annoyance. its either one of the new features or it could be bug in another addon. let me know what you think.
1.)bank and bag window over lap.
2.) the locking feature doesn't work...at all
3.) when i move the bags locked or unlocked it doesn't mater, they reset as soon as i do something. use a pot, click something, move an item with in the bag. cast a spell. anything.
thanks again. killer addon.

Shefki saidI'm sure I sound like a broken record on this. But try turning off all other addons. In the past issues like this have been caused by other addons. FluidFrames used to cause this sort of annoying behavior. There's a workaround in TBag to prevent FluidFrames from messing with the TBag frames but I wouldn't be surprised if some other addon wasn't doing this sort of thing too. TBag is unusual in that it doesn't have a title bar on it's windows and so this sort of issue pops up from time to time from other addons assuming all frames should have one.

Shefki saidCan pretty much guarantee some other addon is at fault. Try turning off all your addons except TBag and seeing if you can replicate. Good bet it's some addon doing a poor job of hooking GameTooltip:SetHyperlink().

sag_ich_nicht saidFluidframes got updated, and since I already have the hooking fix from TBag applied, this unveils a new bug and probably the origin of a lot bugs. I know this is an EngBags bug and not a TBag bug, but I assume TBag will probably have this problem too so I'll post it here too. If it doesn't, good job. :) :

Shefki saidNot relevent to TBag. TBag doesn't hook ToggleDropDownMenu. Though oddly we still have the hook functions that Eng used in the hook code we just don't actually do the hook.
This particular problem would have started causing problems when 2.4 came along if we did because they added a parameter to ToggleDropDownMenu() and the code doesn't have a ... parameter.
But thanks anyway, couple more pieces of dead code I can remove. Slowly but surely weeding it all out.

sag_ich_nicht saidI really wish there was some way to emulate the EngBags bag layout in TBag, it's the only thing keeping me from switching over. I'm sick of the bugs of EngBags, but I can't play without the layout. :/
Edit:
I know you're not maintaining EngBags, but how did you remove the hooking of ToggleDropdownMenu? I googled around a bit while trying to fix the error(i.e. add handling for the new parameter) and apparently hooking it can cause stealth taint, which would explain some of the problems I have, so if it's something mundane I'd appreciate any help. :/

Shefki saidWhat's different about the layout? I have to admit it's been a very long time since I've really used Eng. I used it briefly then found TBag back when it was still being maintained and switched for the ability to see other characters items/bank.

Shefki saidAhh I see, Eng only has 15 bars instead of 32. Categories are assigned to entirely different bars and the default config is not nearly as robust so while there are categories for things like mana pots and health pots they end up in consumables because it doesn't know what items are mana pots and health pots.
You can get it fairly similar by loading both of them up at the same time. Bring both inventory windows up side by side and put them both in edit mode. Use the Eng one as a reference and just move categories in TBag until you get it looking the same. It probably won't be possible to get it exactly the same simply because some of the categories in Eng are pretty broken but between moving the categories around and some manual reassignments of individual items you can mostly get it there.
That said, I honestly suspect if you just run with the TBag layout for a while you'll get used to it.
