Examiner - An Advanced Inspection Mod
Examiner is an advanced inspection mod which you can use to check other players gear, talents, honor and arena team details.
When you inspect someone, it will show a stat summery of all their equipped gear combined. Please note that these values are from gear alone, and will not include bonuses from buffs, talents or normal base stats.
Each player you inspect, will be cached so you can look them up later, even when they are no where near you. This option can be disabled if you prefer not to cache the people you inspect. To cache honor and arena details, you must enable the option to do so under the config page. Talents are not cached.
You can bind a key to inspect your target, you can even bind a key to inspect whoever is under your mouse (stealth inspection). To set this up, open the Key Bindings dialog and look under "Examiner".
Examiner uses about 160 kb of memory with no players cached.

Compare Gear
To compare one person's gear with another, you can mark a target for compare by right clicking on the "Stats" button to get a drop down menu to open, this menu will have an entry called "Mark for Compare".
When marked for compare, the Stats page will no longer show the actual stats of your inspected person, but will instead show the difference in stats compared to the person you marked for compare.
Sending Inspect Data to Another Player
Examiner can send the inspected data to another person who has Examiner. This is done through the AddOn Whisper Channel. By default, accepting addon messages in Examiner is disabled, you have to enable this on the Configurations page.
To send a player you have inspected to another person with Examiner, you have to first inspect a person or load them from your cache. After having done this, right click on the "Stats" button and select "Send To..." and fill in the name of the person you wish to send it to. If the send was successful and the person you sent it to received it, you will get a note in the chat frame that they got it.
Model Frame Controls
Left Click + Move: Moves the Model
Right Click + Move: Rotates the Model
Mousewheel: Zoom
Ctrl + Left Click: Change Background
Ctrl + Right Click: Toggle Background
Slash Commands
The slash command for Examiner is /examiner or just /ex.
Although you probably wont need to use any slash commands as almost everything is available from the UI, there are a few things which can only be done through slash commands.
/ex inspect 'unit' or /ex i 'unit'
This one will inspect the given unit (target, focus, party3 etc). If no unit token is given, it will inspect target and then player if no target exist.
/ex si 'itemLink'
This command will scan just a single item and list its combined stats in the chat frame.
Holding down ALT while the mouse is over an item in Examiner will show a tooltip with the stats like this.
/ex compare 'itemLink1' 'itemLink2'
Compares two items and lists the stat differences.
/ex arena 'rating'
Shows you the amount of arena points the given rating gives for 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5.
/ex scale 'value'
Changes the scale of the Examiner window.
/ex clearcache
Clears the entire cache of Examiner.
Future Plans
Adding more filter types to the "Set Filter" option using text syntax, a bit like the /who function in WoW is working. For example you could set the realm like this: "r:Burning Blade" then it would only show cached entries from Burning Blade. A level filter could work like this: "1-69" and would show all non 70s. Then add two new options for clearing the cache, one which clears all shown entries, and one which clears all the hidden entries.

Demythri, might be caused by some tooltip addon trying to request the talents on mouseover, that is what I've heard others say at least, as I cannot reproduce this myself.

Demythri saidKeep having some weird bug to where when I inspect someone it doesn't show me information on their items at all. It just hovers over the item but doesn't give me item information. Still shows the stats and compares them but that's about it.

Aezay saidExaminer *only* shows the stats from gear, nothing else! That means no matter what your buffs, talents, class, race, level or temporary enchants is, Examiner will still only show the stats from gear. If you need to see the total stats for yourself, use the character sheet instead.

Bagglez saidRight, except that I have exactly 189 haste rating from gear alone (this includes gems, which is what I am wagering is not being counted, as I have +50 haste in gems).

This is exactly 189 haste from gear, but Examiner reflects 139. I suspect gems are not being counted. I love the mod, but this is a legitimate bug report.

Very nice addon, I use it since it replaced SuperInspect ;)
Dont know if this has been suggested before but it would be nice to have:
when the mouse is over a stat (in the middle "stats" list), the contributing value for each equipment part for that stat is shown on the part.
For instance, if the mouse is over the 'strength' stat than the 'head' box displays the strength value of the healmet (if any), and so on for each part.
Same thing when the mouse is over a resist (fire, shadow,..) and when over the topleft 'I' letter (in the case the ILevel of items are shown in the part boxes).

Krakokot saidI like this addon, it's really useful if you want to know weapon and armor of other players, but... it's useless if you want to see stats. For example, my hunter's stats: 513 stamina, 144 intellect, 4038 armor etc. Examiner: 424 stamina, 78 intellect, 3384 armor. Of course "Combine additive stats" is on, of course it's the last version. So may be there is a secret I don't know or may be it's just impossible to show correct stats?

Harez saidKrakokot, it is because every class of every race has different stats when they are naked. In your case your character has 513-424=111 stamina, 144-78=66 intellect, 4038-3384=654 armor etc. while your character has no items on, aka. stands naked next to the gates of Stormwind wondering about the miracles of lazy coders that just can't be ar*ed to find out all the naked stats for all the classes for each race and add them to the stats that are shown on Examiner. When you also think about having to do it for EVERY level of each class and race.. I'd rather leave it just the way it is now.

Aezay saidMera_LaCroisadeEcarlate, I thought about doing that, I even started to look into how I could go about adding it to WoWAce. But I already have my addons on WoWInterface and Curse, having another place to update wouldn't really be that great for me. Also, this is not an Ace addon and will never be, I don't like the framework.

Mera_LaCroisadeEcarlate saidAezay I think you should move your addon to wowace.com svn, all best addons a lot updated are moving to this awesome place, lots of libs to help addon devs, my 2cent suggestion because Examiner is a very good addition and there isnt yet such good inspector on wowace rep with around 1000+ addons.
