SpamMeNot detects and blocks gold spammers.

It analyzes the incoming message and weighs each word (or part of a word) as specified in the locale file. If the total weight is greater than or equal to 100 then the message is blocked.

It will also keep a (frequently purged) internal history of messages from players and will analyze the last 3 messages as a whole to counter spammers that split their adverts in to several messages.

Messages via /whisper /say /shout and any system global channels that do not pass the filter will not show up in your chat boxes. It does not monitor player created channels. You can chose whether or not to monitor the trade channel.

Now incorporates Blizzard's new spam reporting system.

You can view indivual spammer details to see what text they sent and how they scored if you so desire.

SpamMeNot also includes a level based filter so that players that attempt to contact you via whispers, that are under the specified level (default 2), will also be blocked. Setting this to 1 in effect disables this functionality.

It's also compatible with FuBar, WIM, ForgottenChat, Cellular and uses Ace2.

SpamMeNot actually hooks all of the Ace2 events to filter spam from other AddOns where possible.

btw I'm looking for some localization if anyone would be so good as to provide some translations :)

    Heya. If you talk about spam or gold selling, even if it's about other people buying or selling gold then SpamMeNot will probably block you. It's not a bug.

    Unfortunately people advertising guilds (usually in the trade channel!) are also often blocked if they link web sites. A score of 95 will not get you blocked and certainly not reported.

    Hello their, i have a problem with your addon.
    My guild recruitment message, which i do not spam, and i use on the appropriate channel. it has a rating of 95 which appears in red. alts of guild members say it auto ignores me. i do not see why i should be ignored by a majority of people using your addon for my ligitimate message. Also once i mentioned that someone was a "chinese gold seller" on trade channel, i was auto ignored by atlest 20 people - the ones that told me. Please fix your addon. thank you (edit. Oh im a level 70, and sorry for the breifness of this message and/or tone of it)

    on my server, there is a lot of that recruitment spam (all chans, /1 /2 /4 /5)... and never SpamMeNot block it (even if I want it to do it ^^ ). So I'm very curious to see your recruitment message which is blocked....

    Hi octane666 I've posted an enhancemeent suggestion on wowace based on new API introduced in WoW 2.4 to filter out the "Complaint Registered." annoying blizzard system message. Saves some flood when spammenot is autoreporting lots of spammers at once.

    Heya. I tracked down the bug that was causing the "time outs" while looking up peoples' details. Basically it was a small bug in WhoLib-1.0 (a 3rd party library). This should now be fixed.

    Hi Octane666, I took a screen you can see a chinese spammer not very well filtered and it's generating 3 autoreports where only 1 is truely needed.

    I think filtering "5uneed" should be enough, I will try that right now, he's spamming on french server La croisade Ecarlate

    Hey, great addon you have here but I got some small suggestions to make it even better;

    I'd like to see 2 buttons at the spam monitor which enables me to go up and down through the message. If there's already a function for this then stop hiding it and add 2 simple buttons. Same counts for the adding of words / changing of auto message / adding of spammer, please add a submit button - this makes it all easier. (ohh and I noticed when I left the text field for chaning auto-message my text was also reset :()
    Then it would be usefull to be able to change the amount of points a message needs to detect it as spam instead of a "level".
    Another usefull feature would be a list with all blocked words and there weights as when I see, for example, an enchanter get blocked I want to remove/lower the weight of the words he/she used.
    Also, when you enable the "view ratings" function it might be cool to be able to click the green/yellow number to see which words got "agro" :P
    Last but not least, change the pop up for "add words" so it gets clear that you can enter "<word> <weight>" as I noticed I keep forgetting this.

    I also suspect this addon from making my shift-click bugged. As soon as I shift-click a name in chat window it keeps repeating that for like 5 times with a static pause. I think this is because of the level check of a player which gets bugged or something like that.

    I'm having the same problem as Pike. People not in my guild or friends list get this message:
    "Timed out while attempting to look up your details, Your message was undelivered..."

    It's not an easily spottable error because you won't notice it yourself, only if the people somehow manage to contact you via /say message. I am using WIM as well

    Recently a level 70 tried to reply to my /w and they got this message (they may have sent it at the same time as I was zoning from SW to AV):

    [spammenot] Timed out while attempting to look up your details, Your message was undelivered...

    Is this a bug or something wrong with my settings? Anyway thanks for the great add-on you've made cities bearable again. :)
