- About FriendsShare Resurrection
FriendsShare Resurrection is an AddOn that lets you keep the same friends list across characters, on a per server basis.
If you add or remove someone from your friends list and relog to an alt, that person will be added/removed from the alts friends list as well. Also, any entries on that alts list which isn't in the global list, will be added to the other characters whenever you log them in.
Basically, you never have to manually rebuild your friends list when creating alts, or worry about keeping them current on all your alts.
This all works seamlessly without any user intervention.
As an additional plus, if Blizzard decides to clean out the friends list, this Addon will automatically rebuild your friend list. This clean out happens sometimes during server maintenance. :-)
Known issue: If you try to add someone to your friends list and the server won't let you do it (say, if a Horde char tries to add an Alliance char to the list, or you misspell the name), that entry will still end up on the global list, and so you'll get the error message you got trying to add it, every time you log on. So, if this happens to you, do '/friendsshare rebuild' and the global list will be rebuilt from that char's list, and all invalid entries discarded.
This Addon was written originally by Oystein, all credit belongs to him.

HerbertJaeger saidIt's really a great addon ... but I could need some help.
Some of my chars have a lot of "unknown" friends in their friendslist. I´m not able to remove them. I deleted the addon and these "unknown" entries are still there.
/friendsshare rebuild did not work.
What can i do to fix that ?

Kring saidThat's strange. It should only run once while logging in.
Could you please try the following? After you logged in, open the
friend list. Does it print the message:
"FriendsShare Resurrection: friends list not ready, will try again later."
or
"FriendsShare Resurrection: friends list synced."
or none? It should actually print none. If it prints none, it
should no longer be active because it already fulfilled it's job.
Hmm...

jadonchristensen saidMy GF and I started freezing up taking the boat from Darkshore to Azuremyst. Two different computers, separate ISPs, etc. CPU usage topped 100% on both machines when the game froze at the boat loading screen. The only way to stop this from happening was to disable this mod. No other mods seem to cause this problem. Any ideas?

Kring saidUse
/friendsshare rebuild
to rebuild the internal database. No need to change the saved variable by hand.

Answer:
Physchoactive is different from Phychoactiv(e).
I guess the correct player's name ist Phychoactive, since names cannot be more than 12 characters long.

bhroam saidIs it possible to have FSR to notice that a friend is no longer on the server. When I log on, I get a couple "Player Not Found" message. The workaround I found was just to delete the FSR saved variables file from WTF.

Kring saidYou cannot sync the ignore list because you can only put online players on ignore. This is different
from the friend list.

Kring saidAdded the extension Jiral suggested. Thanks. Version 9 should appear shortly.

Kuriostone saidDoes this mod also affect ignore lists? If not, are there plans for that functionality? If not, can you direct me to one that does please? Thank you =0)

Jiral saidThe next time you're making changes to this, could you update the check you make when syncing friends to include:
" and not (index == string.lower(UnitName("player")))"
This will allow me to add my alts to my friends list without receiving the "you cant add yourself to your friends list" error message when I login.
Other than this one minor annoyance, I love this Addon. Does one thing and does it well.

Does the message ever show up, that the list is synced?
Do you see messages that new players are added to the friendlist (the ones from FriendsShare)?
Do they show up before or after the message, that it is synced?
and... are these the new friends that are shown unknown?

updated: The problems occurs when you have a new character added and an fairly long list has to be added to the new toon.

Kring saidFriends Share is not doing anything related to the output of the friends list. It just syncs the list once and then unregisters the event.
What is shown as unknown? The friend name or the location? And the offline friends too?
Could it be another add-on, did you verify this?

Kring said> Still crashes for me, both on startup and on mouseover friends on > titan panel.
How can you mouse over if it crashes on startup? Or does it not always crash on startup?
> I get the usual lua:57 bad argument #1 to 'lower' (string > expected, got nil)
That means, someone/something is calling AddFriend() without an argument. How are you adding a friend if that happens?

Mousover what?

lininjim saidStill crashes for me, both on startup and on mouseover friends on titan panel. I get the usual lua:57 bad argument #1 to 'lower' (string expected, got nil)
Error on mouseover brings up a message in chatbox, - adding "target" to friends list and
friends must be part of your alliance.
