For every item in your inventory when you visit a merchant, that price is saved and you can refer to it when not at the vendor. Also has a bindable /inventorylist window with all your stuff and sell prices, which also functions like a normal bag (shift click link, right click equip, etc).
In addition to using /inventorylist to toggle the frame display you can also prevent certain items from ever showing up on the list. For example, my skinning knife, poisons, bandages, etc which I never want to drop or sell.
/inventorylist hide <itemname>
/inventorylist show <itemname>
/inventorylist list
Note that itemname is CASE-SENSITIVE!
42 - Interface version 20003.
Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

DontCountToday saidHaving a problem recently with this addon. Oddly, this happened kinda outta nowhere when i turned off some other addons that were messing with my UI. i didnt add any new ones, and this was before the most recent patch. Now, for some stupid reason, i am not being able to see the sell value of any green or blue items. so when i go to turn in a quest, i dont see the prices for the rewards, or even when i get the item in my backpack, it wont show its sell value. any ideas?

rygars saidAny chance to get the full price in item's tooltip? If the price is 1g or more, for example 2 gold 12 silver and 36 copper, you get in item's tooltip only the short version of price: 2 gold 12 silver.

Elkor said@Vaul I have a mild distaste for Auctioneer - just too bloated for me. I do use ItemSync (now that it has finally been updated) to get both the buy and sell price, but it has a bit more than I truly need/want, so I would be willing to dump it in favor of a more simplified addon that did what I wanted.

Vaul said@Elkor The Auctioneer suite adds the information your talking about to the tooltip. It sometimes gives prices even for items you can't sell though, so i'm not sure what % accuracy the prefilled DB has. It would be nice to have this added to sellvalue, but even without auctioneer I hate playing without sellvalue. It really makes it clear which items I need to drop to make room for better loot.

Elkor saidI don't have an issue with the 'burden' of walking into a shop one time if I have a new item, but a feature that I would love to see is adding the price that the merchant sells an item for to the tooltip along with the amount they are willing to pay for the item. Fine wiht me if the same rule applies, ie one of the chars on the account needs to have seen the item for sale at the merchant in order for the sell price to be added.

Anaral saidWill you ever make it to where it will use the client database to come up with item values so we don't need to take all of our items to a vendor before we know how much the vendor sell value is?

tlbrooks saidI am seeing the sell values appear in ALL tooltips after 1.12. The value of the last item that I hover over appears in all the tooltips for non-items and changes when I hover of something else to the new value. Anyone else seeing this too? Any chance of a fix?
Thanks!

Greenman saidJust posted a trivial update to SellValue, v32, with the TOC version updated for 10900 (1.9.x). No other changes from version 31, so you can download the new one or just keep the old as you see fit.
And as Xinil replied earlier, every patch since 1.9.0 seems to undo the "Load Out of Date Addons" setting, so you'll have to make sure it's reset after you patch, if you run the old version.
The background graphic in the inventory list seems to be a bit off since 1.9.0. I don't know how to fix this, but it seems to be a common problem in other UI mod windows.
