SimpleMountEquip 1.9 by Brodrick ( aka Kirov )

Automatically equips any mount speed increase items in the player's bags when mounting and reequips the previous items when unmounting.

Options

  • Disabled in battlegrounds by default.
  • Options to disable in any zone, will automatically unequip / equip when entering or leaving disabled zones.
  • Option to set prefered gear if player has more than one piece of gear with mount speed enchants.
  • Saves non-mounted gear between server restarts, console reloads, and log out and in.
  • Works with druid flight form.

Usage
Type /sme in the console for a list of options


Q&A
Q: How do I setup the addon to swap my gear?
A: You just install the addon, there's no setup required. Unlike most mount gear addons you do not have to define what gear you want to use. SimpleMountEquip will find the relevant gear and automatically equip and unequip it for you.

Q: I have Riding Crop along with enchanted gloves and boots, but it only equips the Riding Crop, why?
A: The enchant bonuses do not stack with the Riding Crop or the Skybreaker Whip since the riding speed bonus from items is capped at 10%. SimpleMountEquip will only equip one of the 10% speed increase trinkets, or the enchanted items with Carrot on a Stick.

Q: Can you make this addon cast Crusader Aura when I mount?
A: No. Blizzard disabled the ability for addons to cast spells automatically, so this feature will never be possible.

Q: How do I stop it the addon from saying every time it changes my items?
A: /sme quiet

Q: Can I equip some specific gear other than my riding speed bonus items?
A: Not with this addon, no. There are other addons that let you do that, but that is beyond the intent of this addon's abilities.

    I realize these pages haven't been looked at for more than a month by the creator but I figured I'd go ahead and post a bug I've found with the latest version of SimpleMountEquip. Currently, if a Druid is mounted on a normal land mount in Outlands and shifts in to flight form directly from the mount SimpleMountEquip does not swap the riding crop for the flight charm and the riding crop remains equipped. I don't know any Lua but I'm going to try and sort through the code to see what's happening. If I can figure out a solution I'll post it here in the comments.

    Are all these cases problems with re-equipping after logging off the character while mounted / in flight form and logging back in later?

    Happens when in flight form then accepting summons or entering bg/arena. So basically zoning into an area where human form by default, the flight trinket does not being swap back automatically. (sorry for the late reply ^^') Also, /cancelform (turning back into caster) won't change the trinkets either.

    I'm also having the same issue of where sometimes my flight trinket not swapping back after I've shifted from epic flight form. :( It equips it alright, but only sometimes unequip it.

    I'm having the same "won't equip back" problem occasionally. On top of that, I have a few alts, 1 with a riding crop, the rest with the carrot. What happened was that, if I played a char with the carrot, then logged out n logged in the one with the riding crop, the mod will automatically equip the carrot instead of the riding crop, and won't equip anything if I have not the carrot in the bag. I'll have to manually equip the riding crop, then it worked fine thruout the play, but it happens again after I played other chars. So its kind of frustrating that I have to manually switch every now and then...I mean the purpose of having this mod is so that we don't have to do the switches manually, no?

    I'm having a problem with this addon....when i mount up it changes my boots to my mount boots but when i dismount it wont change them back(its not because I'm in combat). i equip my PvP boots and it changes them back and forth fine however it wont change my boots back to for some reason [Star-Strider Boots]. is there something i should do to fix the problem?

    Well, it seems that it was maybe me who was mistaken. It does change back, though after a while. My bad =) Great mod though

    EDIT: Sometimes it does not re-equip the previous gear, not bound to area it seems

    Flight form does not use the carrot. There is a quest reward trinket called "Charm of the Swift Flight" that works with flight form.

    Druid flight form fix:

    Goto line 31-32 and change local INCREASES = "^Increases speed by"; local INCREASESFLIGHT = "^Increases flight speed by";

    to:
