This is the original Range Help fixed for 2.0.1 lua changes using the FixAddons program. Tested and seems to work fine. (Also since removed 2 bugs)

Automatic bar swapping is dead post 2.0.1. Many people ask for it and the answer is always the same. To swap bars you will have to press a key and macros are the best way to solve this now.
Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

Oreoleo saidHey Elsia, I was wondering if there was a way to have a single macro that changed from /changeactionbar 1 and /changeactionbar 2 and vice versa, all in one macro. I ask this because I want to use my middle mouse button to switch the two bars with one button. Is this possible? Maybe some kinda detection, if this bar 1 is active switch to bar 2 and vise versa. Thanks in advance, bye

Mahndoo saidi'm having trouble moving and resizing the UI, both options are checked i can't "grab" any of the edges to resize or move the box. Also, it looks like the top border of the window is now below the bottom border of the window. i think this was caused by accident when i initially tried to adjust the window. is there a way to completely reset the UI?

Elsia saidTo clarify: Bar switching works as before, but only out of combat. It will not work as befire in combat. There is no way to recover this functionality in combat since the 2.0.1 API/macro changes and this is intended by Blizz.
If Bartender or other bar switching addons do not switch bars out of combat there is a specific issue still with be bar addon, but make sure to test it out of combat.
If out of combat switching only, is widely useful is a separate matter. Currently it is kind of useful in the sense that the bar will switch back to ranged after a battle has ended which does give a keypress free way to get to a default state I suppose.

Zidomo saidSo I take it the bar switching non-availability isn't really a conflict with Bartender3 (or other bar mods) then? But instead it is a Blizzard API issue where its not possible to switch bars with this mod, no matter what else you are using (as its designed currently)?
Not totally sure that's what is being said below, Elisa & Terras, so asking here to make sure :).

Elsia said@chusina: I'll see what I can do. I distinctly tried to avoid doing multiple web-sites but this one seems to be down on occasion. Likely unofficial wow ui, so check there later tonight.
@Terras: I'm on EU realms hence cannot post on US wow forums. I'd love to engage in the discussion, but alas it will be very difficult. I do think that a "pressed melee ability, switch bar to melee/pressed ranged ability " addon is very possible and one can even link those to keys that don't have to be on visible bars. I'm not really much of an addon designer but there should be someone who can manage to do this. Anything else isn't really possible anymore.

Terras saidI was wondering if it was possible to set up the mod so that it still switched bars depending on melee/ranged range but required a keypress to do it.
Example: pressing 2 while in ranged range will fire an arcane shot and switch to ranged bar if you're not already on it, pressing 2 while in melee range will wing clip and switch to melee bar if you're not already on it. If you're already on the appropriate bar then it wouldn't switch them, but would still fire arcane/winglcip. This would give you the bar switch mod functionality while requiring a key press to actually make the switch.

Terras saidThank you Elsia for trying to bring some of this functionality back to us. Myself and many others are sorely missing the autoswitch capability. If you'd like, please join in on the forum threads I linked below. I'd really like to brainstorm with you and see if we can figure out a creative work around.
