This is an updated version of CallOfElements (CoE), updated for WoW 2.0 and later.
(Original AddOn: http://wow.curse-gaming.com/en/files/details/2447/call-of-elements/ )
- 2008/04/07 : Version 4.6
- Fixed frFR totem detection (thank blizzard to have removed a space in the "totem tools" tooltip, which is a language error)
Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

dcompiled saidI cant get this addon to work - when I try and throw a totem from the current set it says the feature is disabled and to use the "open sub-menu for the active set". Unfortunately when I try and use this feature nothing happens at all. Can anyone explain why?

Dooble saidLove this addon but has become very buggy for me. It flips out when I enter a BG and doesnt show timers on any of the bars as well as not letting me ctrl-click to switch which ones I want showing up atm, it always says i'm in combat and cannot do it. It also randomly just dissapears on me sometimes, this one doesn't happen alot but often enough to be annoying. Anyways, was hoping for an update or some advice on another mod out there that works similar to this. I have checked a few sites but cannot find anything that actually has buttons/bars like this does, which is what i really want.

total1087 saidI LOVE this addon. Help so much in any spec and any situation.
Anyway possible to keep talent-specific totems in the totem bars (i.e. mana tide and totem of wrath) like the enamored water spirit; so when I change spec from ele to resto, I can re-arrange my totem bars w/o having a huge space in my fire bar (having to set my fire/water bars to show 2 totems and have them just stick out from my normal totem bar square) or water bar from having my totem of wrath/mana tide totem being my first one? I'd rather not go through the expense of re-speccing to fix it or erasing my saved variables because of it. I understand that forethought is best to fix this, but when your guild keeps losing resto shammies and you step up to re-spec to resto to help the guild, forethought kinda gets lost in the mayhem.
Here's hoping that I'm making sense.

Fritti saidHi, first of all - i love this addon!
But there's something that should become a new feature ...
There are allready the totem sets ... but what about totem order sets ?
I usually click my totems, and in PvP i need different totems for different situations ... in normal case i have to slide to the totem panel, make the "pve-useless" totems pop up and then select for example the Grounding Totem ...
therefore i wish that you could introduce Totem-Order-Sets so that if i change to pvp mode, other totems are on the front and i don't need to pop them up first.
Thx
Fritti

g00fy0 saidhow do i remove the "Enarmoed water spirit" button from the water totems bar?
Btw, thanks for upadting the addon! Appreciate it! best totem addon i've seen.
Thanks!
EDIT:
With patch 2.4 applied, it's now possible to destroy an individual totem by right-clicking on the buff (in the default UI's new totem "manager"). Ths is not yet supported for CoE, and would love to see it :)
cheers

NPC_Mika saidIt would be nice if this add on made the standard blizzard totem timers disappear.

Druaightagh saidYou CAN reorder your totems (I have), try the options window (/coe): Totem Bars pane, Configure Order button. You can even set up different sets, COE can then auto switch sets according to target (PvP) via the Totem Sets pane.
When you gain brand new totems/totem based spells, I think in the past, I just had to reload my UI, failing that, log out and in again.

dreamingxashley saidIm on the fence about this one. I like it, but I dont like that I cant move my totems around so that searing totem is in the anchor spot. Im level 70, and I have all my totems, so it would be nice to be able to switch them around. I have them set up to drop using QWERT, and I like to arrange them according to what other shamans are going to drop in an instance.

digihotaru saidOops, I hadn't caught that when I posted my March 26th comment. HorrorScope is correct. If the totem is destroyed, you'll get no message and the timer count down continues to run. This makes sense since the addon was parsing the combat log for that event, and the combat log has change significantly in 2.4. Would *love* to see this addon updated.
