Description of Outfitter

Outfitter allows you to create multiple outfits and equip them with a click of your mouse. You can layer outfits, create outfits optimized for a particular attribute (ie, fire resist or maximum defense), and have outfits which automatically equip based on events like mounting up, stealthing or changing stances and forms.

The user's manual is available online

What's new in Outfitter 4

The biggest new thing is Special Occasion and Mix-n-Match categories are gone. The Special Occasion outfits are now regular outfits with preset scripts attached. There are presets for all of the old special occasion outfits as well as several other useful scripts. This makes it possible to remove or rename any outfit you wish as well as to customize the behavior any outfit. Outfitter 4 also fixes several features which were broken by the release of WoW 2.0.

Important information about upgrading to Outfitter 4

Upgrading to version 4 will upgrade your outfits to eliminate the old categories and convert them to the new system. Versions prior to 4 will not work properly with the updated outfit data. If you want to be able to revert to earlier versions while trying out version 4 you will need to backup your Outfitter data file before upgrading and then restore that file before downgrading. The file to save can be found at "World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\{login id)\(realm)\(character)\SavedVariables\Outfitter.lua"

  • question: is it possible to create a macro that will call up one outfit if Im in a flying zone (outlands) and a different one if Im in a non-flying zone? reason: when flying, Id like to equip my skyguard drape (for emergency bailouts, right?) but when not flying, use a different outfit that doesn't equip this cloak?

    My current macro is this:

    #showtooltip
    /outfitter toggle flying
/cast [flyable] Reins of the Veridian Netherwing Drake;Reins of the Swift Stormsaber

what that macro does is to use the drake ONLY if Im in a flyable zone, and the saber if I am not. but it's using my flying outfit regardless. Thats the part I wanted to edit. Is there a way to use the [flyable] and [nonflyable] triggers in the outfitter command line?

  • You can use conditionals in /outfitter commands, just put them right after the /outfitter part, like this

    #showtooltip
    /outfitter [flyable]wear Flying; wear Riding
/cast [flyable] Reins of the Veridian Netherwing Drake;Reins of the Swift Stormsaber

You can also do things like this

/outfitter [mod:alt] toggle Raid; [mod:shift] toggle PvP; toggle Normal

  • I'm running a feral druid. I'm trying to set outfitter for 3 outfits: Tank, Normal and DPS. Tank is as it sounds (all of my tank gear). Bear Form Accessory matches this outfit. Normal and DPS outfits match (obviously, my feral dps gear). Cat form accessory is currently not filled out at all.

My goal is to set the tank outfit so that no matter which form I'm in, I'm in tank gear. I want DPS setup so that no matter which form I'm in, I'm in DPS gear. Finally, I want Normal outfit to be whichever form I'm in, matches the appropriate gear set. Can someone help me out with this?

  • I'm also having the probably with weapon swapping not working in instances. On my twink rogue, I use my fast dagger for ambush/backstabs and my sword for normal combat. I have it set to switch my dagger from offhand to mainhand when I stealth. When I exit stealth, my sword is back to mainhand. This works everywhere except for dungeons and battlegrounds. (also, when I leave a BG, it continues to not work.)

  • I'll try to reproduce this, but my rogue is only level 20-something, but maybe I can duplicate the problem using the Stockades or something.

Sorry for my importunity, but can you email that text for .lua file to shelifon@gmail.com?)

  • I have a Russian translation from Delika but I haven't integrated it and released a build yet. You can open the OutfitterStrings_ru.lua file in any text editor and paste this into the file
