- About WIM (WoW Instant Messenger)
WIM (WoW Instant Messenger) is a World of Warcraft addon which helps you to manage your whispers by making them into a classic instant messenger interface such as AIM, Yahoo and MSN.
With game play in mind, WIM has a large array of options where you can customize how WIM interacts during different situations, such as while you are in combat or in town talking to friends or selling your crafts.
WIM now comes with a built in Spam Blocker which utilizes WIM's new plugin interface.
***UPGRADING TO WIM 2.4.9? PLEASE READ!***
Because of the major changes made to WIM in 2.4, you must delete your WIM folder in your Addons folder before installing this update. After installation, you must restart WoW. Jaystarr said@Elendiel - There's a quick/easy fix to the .lua file in Craftlist2 that will correct the old hook that Craftlist2 is looking for in WIM. The fix is posted on the official WIM site (http://www.wimaddon.com)...just search for Craftlist2 on their forums.

Sietelle saidi have the newest version (4/22) installed but it keeps popping up saying there is a new version to install every time i log in a character. i've even deleted the folder and reinstalled the addon and it still does this.

Elendiel saidSince the last Update Craftlist2 is too old to work with WIM - I love this Addon, but for me Craftlist is more so impoortant, so I can't use WIM anymore :(

I instaled the new version and i got a small problem my minimap menu isnt working. i dont get any error message, it just doesnt show me the wim menu or the open conversations.
i uninstaled the previous version and still got the same problem

Pazza saidIf you are having a problem even after installing the older version, it means there is another addon loaded which is conflicting. Try disabling all of your addons except for WIM. See if you still have a problem. If it works as intended, next you need to figure out which addon is causing the problem.

Zwerg saidI've got the same problem. I disabled all my addons and could figure out the problem. An addon called MBB (Minimap Button Bag, http://files.wowace.com/MBB/MBB-r70528.zip) has problems with WIM. In the past, both addons worked nice together, an update of WIM or MBB is responsible for the problem. Need both addons. :(

Second, i am getting this bug. it doesn't produce an error message, but whener i log in, my skin color resets to default. not a huge deal, but kinda annoying.

Bensam123 saidWhenever I view history in the history viewer of someone I've had a lot of conversations with the game freezes for a extended period of time. The more conversations, the longer it freezes. Lately I had it crash after trying to switch from normal view to RAW Text.

Pazza saidThe larger your history database the longer it will take to load... It shouldn't be causing a game crash unless it is forcing you to run out of memory. Exactly how large is your history? If it is indeed that large, maybe it is time to start copying and pasting your history out and saving them on your computer... I options i added for history where added for a reason. Unfortunately, there isn't a better method of managing data. aka there is no actual "database" per say. Just lua table manipulation.

prican saidI get this error a lot lately. And, I can't find any documentation regarding Prat and WIM problems or fixes. Help :) . Thanks for a great addon. OH, after error, I can only get "tells" in combat. And, if I open the WIM window to respond, my msg is not displayed for me, but goes through to target.

Pazza saidUnless something changed recently in prat. I am sure there is an addon conflict going on as I am unable to reproduce this error and use WIM and prat together all the time.
You can do one or two things...
1. /wim prat
this will disable any Prat formatting from WIM. This should avoid your errors from occurring.
2. Start disabling your many icons and figure out which might be causing the problem.

Thank you so much for your tip! I did i like you said, and i could move the wim-button. Now everything works perfectly fine! It was really easy to fix this problem, but i wouldn't have hit on it on my own... hehe.
