  • About RABuffs
  •

RABuffs makes buffing and raid status monitoring easy by displaying information that you are interested in in a compact window. Each watched aspect is represented with a status bar, capable of displaying three different segments - typically divided into buffed, fading soon and expired buffs.

RABuffs helps you buff. Clicking on a bar out of combat automatically picks the right rank of a spell (including group- and class-wide buffs) and casts it on needy group member(s), greatly simplifying the process of buffing the groups assigned to you. Segments of status bars also begin to flash as the buff you're watching is about to expire, warning you in advance of a needed rebuff.

RABuffs is customizable. You may also narrow down the group of people a status bar checks - anything from "everyone" to "groups 1-3" to "shamans, druids and warlocks" to "shamans in groups 1-3 and Alice but not Bob" is possible using the easy-to-use Layout configuration interface. You can even create custom queries to watch for buffs and debuffs not included by default.

RABuffs does more than track buffs. Queries are not limited to simply checking for buffs - you can also monitor the raid's health and mana, PvP tags, location, cooldowns on various spells, point out who isn't wearing their Onyxia Scale Cloak on a Nefarian raid, intelligently and automatically pick resurrection targets, and much, much more.

Use /rab to show/hide the RABuffs window while out of combat and /rab config to display the configuration dialog.

Advanced Features

  • Holding down SHIFT while hovering over a bar inverts the information displayed in the tooltip; holding down ALT forces RABuffs to use a different kind of spell to buff (single vs group/class versions).
  • Clicking the Alive bar out of combat will attempt to res a nearby dead group member (if they have not released).
  • RABuffs generates text output for its queries. You can CTRL+Click on a bar to send a message to a customizable chat channel notifying people of the information the bar is displaying to you.
  • You can view the results of queries not present in your RABuffs window by using the /rq slash command (typing /rq brings up short help for the command). It can also be used to send the query result message to a chat channel of your choice.
  • RABuffs transforms queries typed in [square brackets] in chat to query links, allowing you to easily share assignments with your group. If you send a message containing [motw 123], RABuffs will transform it into a clickable link that'll let people add a Mark of the Wild status bar monitoring groups 1-3 to their RABuffs window.
  • RABuffs shares spell cooldown data with your group. You may also use RALight to share the same information. RALight requires no configuration and uses little resources, making it ideal for group members who want to share their spell cooldowns but do not wish to run RABuffs.
  • You can customize the appearance of the RABuffs interface using libSharedMedia (typically bundled with other addons; see also SharedMedia for additional textures). It is generally worthwhile checking RABuffs configuration to adjust the settings to match your preferences.
  • You may choose to display a different set of bars when in combat (or select a shorter list of queries when you don't need to see everything you would in the "full" view) using the "Show" dropdown in the edit bar dialog.

On my priest, I have PW: Fortitude set up to hit everyone but pets. However, rogues and warriors always get left off... that's the setting I use for Divine Spirit. Is RABuffs somehow picking up those preferences instead? Anything else I should try to fix this? Thanks for the great addon, by the way. It's a huge help in BGs.

    hallo,
first off all this addon is great, i love it :]
I like the possibility to manage the raid buffs with the queries in the chat , e.g. [pwf 123].
Is it possible to expand this function? I'm thinking of PallyPower and the way it works. The raidleader, or an assistant, configures all the buffs for all RABuffs-users.

Eventually, yes; the general idea is to let you suggest what people should buff, rather than require raid leader / assistant status to force assignments on other people.

I'm a raid leader and Ive been looking for a mod for months that would help me figure out whether my raid is fully buffed with flasks and well fed.

The only thing that this mod is missing is the well fed and flask/elixirs buff. I know that you had mentioned in someones comment that you could do this with custom queries. But every time I make a custom query, and attach it to a bar.....it doesnt show up.....like i press edit and it goes back to the layout tab but the buff doesnt come up, and when i hover over the bar it tells me no information.

Did I program it wrong or something?

Please, id really like some help with this. I know the mod is capable of doing what i need it to do....its just a matter of knowing how to work it.
Contact me at balletbrt@yahoo.com if you can help me out at all
    Thanks

Broken custom queries was a reporter issue before, so you could be bumping into that again. Please post a screenshot of the custom query you're attempting to add, want to try to do that myself. :)

Those are odd, I'm assuming they went away.

I have loved Rabuffs for years but I'm not as happy with pets being auto included. IMHO, pets should be set to a default of off instead of on. I'm used to seeing full bars left to right and it was annoying to look down and be like "Oh crap . . somebody need ma . .damn. it was a warlock's imp."

Just adjust queries to exclude them; excluding them by default causes issues with internal query representation :(

Great addon. It is very useful as a raid leader.

One question: Is there a way to customize the output text to only list the name of the players missing a certain buff? Thanks!

There... isn't. Something to add in the future, perhaps

Ooh thanks for the pet support!

One nitpick: I noticed they're colored as Paladins, but if you're going to pick a color it should be that of Warriors because pets are actually counted as Warriors by WoW for receiving Paladin blessings.

Slightly lighter pink, I think; noted.

    hallo,

That button enables you to toggle between minimized/full display mode - of course, it only actually changes anything if you've used the "Show" dropdown (bar details, layout tab of the configuration dialog) to customize which bars are displayed when.

Regarding 2.4: I believe 1.2.2 should continue to work as it does currently, so the release cycle will not be affected by the patch.

Also, the font size setting doesn't seem to apply on startup. The font is bigger than the value of 8 I chose until I open Options->Interface; it applies immediately on opening that menu.

    Fixed in next release.

It would be really nice if we could select how to anchor the frame. Currently it seems to anchor by the middle, so the list seems to expand upwards when I'd like it to expand downwards.

RABuffs 1.2.2 is now available for download; changes consist mostly of fixed issues in the 1.2.0 release.

[If you've managed to download 1.2.1, update again, 1.2.2 fixes a tainting issue introduced in that release.]
