Wardrobe allows you define up to 30 distinct equipment profiles (called "outfits") and lets you switch among them on the fly. For example, you can define a Normal Outfit that consists of your regular equipment, an Around Town Outfit that consists of what you'd like to wear when inside a city or roleplaying, a Stamina Outfit that consists of all your best stam gear, etc. You can then switch amongst these outfits using a simple slash chat command (/wardrobe wear Around Town Outfit), using a small interactive button docked beneath your radar (Moveable), or define hotkeys in key configuration.

Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- Log in
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

Icky saidThis a great add on. Is there a way to assign items to specific bag slots? I don't like the fact that some items get thrown into any available bag slot. I then have to pick the garbage loot out of the areas I keep my gear.

WonderGamer saidYou'll want to go to the directory World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\(account name)\SavedVariables & delete both the Wardrobe.lua & Wardrobe.lua.bak files. This will clear outfits for all characters, so you'll have to reset all outfits for all characters. Make sure the game is not running before you attempt this.

Hopefully this will fix bug with Seal of the Dawn trinket. If I set an outfit to "wear in plaguelands" and have Seal of the Dawn in my second trinket slot, WD currently attempts to wear that outfit whenever I dismount. I have deleted/cleared all outfits. I have unistalled the mod and reinstalled WD and even after reinstall it "remembers" the same outfit I set for plaguelands 2 patches ago and keeps putting me in it. Please help.

Even the error message has been fixed when you try to remove more than one item without replacing it with another. YAY!!! One question, though. I and quite a few others that I know that use this mod are wondering if it's possible to have a toggle to take the button on the mini map off please? We love your mod big time! But... that button is too sensitive and opens that window in our way way too much lol.
Most of us are using the Titan Bar addition for this mod and therefore don't need the button on the map at all.... soooooo....
If it's removable already can you tell us how please, we have been trying to figure that out to no avail, and if it's not could you please add a way to turn the mini map button off?

KarlKFI saidTitan and Fubar already have options to hide the Wardrobe minimap button, but they are handled by titan and fubar in their drop down options, not Wardrobe.
Alternately you can enable "/wd click" so that the menu doesn't pop up on mouseover.

Slashrude saidEvertime I try to split up a stack of something (by shift+clicking it) when this addon is active, I get an error, and it won't let me split it up. This is particularly annoying when I'm in an instance group, because I'm an enchanter, so when I disenchant things, I have to split up my stack of shards to give them theirs. If I disable the addon with khaos, it stops, but whenever I enable it again, it screws it up again.

wsuhoey said"Out of the box" v2.55 doesn't work. It says "Dependencies missing" of "WearMe" and "Chronos" in the AddOns button on the character select screen.
Now, I did notice that these folders are included in the "Wardrobe" folder, so I tried copying these 2 folders to the root Interface\AddOns\ folder, and then the AddOns button screen says "WearMe" is missing dependencies of "Sea"
Now, I know some other addons that are dependent on other addons include these depency addons in the same folder (like you try to do) and just call upon them from the .toc I believe... but are you doing this?
Is anyone else having this problem too? Or did I skip a step in installation that isn't documented? (the readme does say to just extract the .zip file to the \Interface\AddOns folder)
I have never used this addon before or any of its depency addons. So this is a fresh install for me.

nyhotep saidHad the same problem as Lesterman - no writing appearing on the buttons. Entered khaos and found that wardrobe was not actually ticked, even though the minimap icon was present. Ticked and reloaded, and everything works.

KarlKFI saidSorry the update took so long. It's been in Cosmos for a month now, but I managed to accidently format my HD when installing Vista.... sidetracked me a little. FYI, the newest version will always be in Cosmos; you just have to download the dependancies because they aren't embedded there.

Empty slots aren't emptied properly, instead there are several "That item does not go in that slot" screen messages. Only the main hand melee weapon gets switched out. (using 2.54)

DarkPsycho saidTheres a problem then i try to use my naked set so i don't lose durability from like my transporter(engineering) and such or just switching in and out fast it keep saying the item doesnt go into that slot and it only takes out my melee weapon and leaves everything else.

Lesterman saidI used to love this mod. I downloaded it at 2.0 and it worked fine, at first.
Now, when I open the options, the buttons are all blank. When I open my character tab, there is a single red button.
It reads "HI".
Deleting the wardrobe folder and reinstalling doesn't fix the issue.
