  • About SW Stats
  •

SW Stats (named after our guild Shadow Warrior) is a damage/heal (and more) meter addon designed to be very customizable in what you want to see with a built-in Sync channel that is running in the background. The design here is especially geared towards raid groups, but also has useful info for soloers. (A few of my testers respecced after seeing the numbers).
Want to know which healer in your raid healed which target? Or want to know by whom your MT was healed and for how much? Want a pure damage list or heal list? Want to know what the main school (fire, ice etc.) was that your raid made damage with, or was damaged by? Want to know what skills that guy used? Want to know if that mob mainly did arcane or fire damage?
AND do you want a lot of this info synced IN-Fight ? you found SW Stats :)

In tests it has shown that about 5 people running this addon in a raid are enough to get good numbers, no more "to far away it didn't see your damage/heal" crap, if more people have it installed it's even better.
By default this Addon has an English and German localization, but it should work with any other language (feedback on that is very welcome).

Quickstart:
Install SW Stats, click on the Icon anchored to the Minimap, or use /sws bars (/sws balken with the German client).
Hit something, heal somebody and play around with the Settings (S) (or (E) with the German client.)

Type /sws ? to see a summary of available commands. You won't need most of them. What is important though is that all reporting functions write to the console, not the chat channel.

I have the same problem that Halafang is having. I cannot get my pets to show-up as seperate entries into the damage list. I have tried changing how pets are reported under the pet tab, but it always adds them to my damage.

Hi, I have the same problem as shadedancer81.
On lower level alts it seems to work fine but on my level 70s the main console doesn't show and some of the other menus seem fubar.
Can anyone shed any light on this? I have tried it with all other addons switched off and I have the same problem, thanks.

yeah I have the same problem as well, though it's just on one of my 70s not both of them. If I just wanted damage it'd be great but if I want to see what healing meters were, for example, I can't get it to change at all. All it lets me do is sws rv, the current damage meter and no adjustments to that, and that's about it.

EDIT: I fixed my problem by doing a search in windows that found all instances of sw_stats.lua and deleted them all (they were in all the various char files. Did that and my problem fixed itself, go figure!

Guys ive used Swstats since pre patch 2.4 but this update for 2.4 patch is annoying as hell being a Hunter i used to have swstats display the pets damage seperate to my dps as other hunters prefered seeing theyre dps to the pets instead of having the pets dps merged to the player. Any way of being able to configure to show the pets damage seperately with this update?

    I'm using v2.2.0

I don't see a way to color code the bars for specific classes in the main window - is this an option SW Stats allows? ***Nevermind*** I finally found the color code option on the visuals tab in the "Settings" window.

    Apparent bugs:

I can see that you're supposed to be able to choose different options with regard to showing pet data. I'm not able to get pet information to show up in the main window with any of these options.

Console window, general tab - The red button on the general tab is not labelled. What does it do?

Console window, event info tab - The "show log message" and "suppress castmsgs" options show up to the right of the window instead of inside the window.

Sync window - When you're not in a group the message "this will seem empty unless you are in a group/raid" shows up. The end of this sentence carries over the border of the window instead of wrapping inside the window.

I'm a previous DamageMeter user looking for a substitute now that DamageMeter is defunct. I'm looking at a handful of possibilities and SW Stats is now one of them.

I'm unable to get the command "/swstats ol right" to change the position of the option buttons. **** Nevermind **** on this one as well. After re-logging it worked fine. My issued seemed to be with capitalization. It should be "/sws ol RIGHT".

I've noticed since 2.4 all recording of damage dealt from other sources(such as Windfury, Sword Spec, and Fiery Enchant procs) aren't being recorded seperately anymore. It was always nice to have this info, and now having it missing is a shame.

Any plans to fix this and have it scan for this data correctly again in the combat log?

Couple questions on swstats, I am running the newest version and have not yet figured out how to:
    a) remove NPCs from damage output (just want guildies showing) and
    b) show heals versus damage (or both)

I might be missing something in menus, etc, but just can't find it.

    Thanks

    a) I'm new to this addon, but if you click the S button on the "main window" to open "settings" instead of opening "general settings" using the minimap icon or /sws gs it will give you a filter option to get rid of npc data.

    b) Same answer - this window has a setting to show heals or damage. I don't know about showing both healing and damage at the same time though.

Will sync'ing be removed now that the combat log range restrictions were lifted in 2.4 (combat log range is as far as you can see things now).

One thing that has kept me away from SWStats (from going back to it) is the indication of a need for 4-5 folk sync'ing for accurate data. Assessment doesn't have that problem, and has been very, very accurate (but is no defunct).

This addon seem to be causing some problems with another addon I use, called Spellbreak. Spellbreak is an addon that displays bars with duration of spell breaking effect on enemy players around me (result of silence etc.). The thing is, when SW Stats is turned on, most of this spell break bars go into infinite loop, counting repeatedly 1 hour, starting from point they are supposed to disappear (bar reaching 0). I have posted this comment on spellbreak website too, but since Swatter refers to some issue with SW Stats, I post it also here.
Here is bug report from Swatter (note that disabling SW_UniLog does not solve the problem, but instead of that, error appears referring to main SW_Stats addon):

I have a rather annoying problem ever since 2.4.
Every time I relog, my SWstats window disappears off the screen.
The only way I can get it back is by typing /sws resetwin.
It wouldn't be an issue if this only happened once in a while.. but it happens EVERY TIME I log off and back on. Having to reset the window 2-3 times a day is rather annoying.

i have a bit of a weird problem... my SWstats won't show anything but the timeline window on my warrior which is lvl 70 but i got no problems on my warlock which is lvl 30. I've tried reinstalling like a hundred times or so but it's still the same problem... anyone know what to do?

  • April 4, 2008, 03:35AM (1 month ago)

With the 2.4 changes to the combat log I think this is possible... hope so anyway... my guild has a warlock named Anetheron, (boss in hyjal) and a shadow priest named Midnight, (Attumen the huntsman from kara's mount) Currently SWStats groups both the boss and the player's damage into the same catagory. Can we get it changed to 2 distinct amounts?

Also recount displays each person's dps as well as total damage when reporting to a channel, is it possible to get swstats to show this too?

  • April 2, 2008, 09:19AM (1 month, 1 week ago)

Anyone know why theres atleast a 200dps difference in the dps counter there is in the headline vs the dps there is when you set swstats to effective dps....
i know its says this may differ from personal dps info, but that shouldnt be possible when SWstats get reset right before aggroing a boss

    QUESTION!!!

I like to raid. I also like to see the damage done per fight, as well as keeping the overall dmg kept.
THere are many channels available, however... i cant seem to resest one in particular...

How is this done? I haev 5 buttons opened on the botton, but if i reset or nuke, all of them are erased.

    HELP?

Would there be a way in an upcoming version to add a tracker/counter for interrupts? I know that Recount has this and is something that I'd like to see as both a dps and a raid officer. I don't really want to switch to Recount, but I think that the feature of seeing who is doing how many interrupts in a raid is a *very* useful tool. Thanks for the mod btw, I love it!

  • April 2, 2008, 01:33AM (1 month, 1 week ago)

    I agree...
In many situations interupts are necessary (For early examples- Opera Event: Romulo and Julianne, Shade of Aran, etc.)

As a raid leader, its hard to complain about things not being interupted when you dont know who is doing them and who isnt.. Obviously is some1 is yelling about it every1 is gonna say "dude i was spamming that button! i swear"

  • March 31, 2008, 04:49AM (1 month, 1 week ago)

Most dissapointed. Dont know if it is because of a change blizzard made in the 2.4 patch, or if it is something the designer has done, but no matter what I do, or what setting i choose, my Pet will not display, and automatically is added to my totals.

Not really good as I like to know what / how my pet is doing in fights :(

    Sirpugg,
I think he said on the SW stats forums there's a change in the combat log, so it's a bit more different, however if you mouse over your name whilst viewing damage, you can still see what % of damage your pet did, along with other shots.

    e.g

    Steady shot 35%
    Auto shot 25%
    Multi shot 15%
    arcane shot 15%
    Spike (your pet) 10%
