Thank you.
- Fixed bug with tinsert on load.
Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

Allara saidFor anybody still looking at this page, please head over to http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/298/ for the official HitsMode page. HitsMode is currently broken and not working on patch 2.4. I am actively working on the next version of HitsMode (3.0). It's been about two full days so far, and I'm making good progress. Check back in later if you still hate the WoW combat log like I do.

Allara saidHello folks! HitsMode 2.5 has been released. This is meant as an interim release before 3.0 comes out. It contains all the features planned for 3.0 except the new combat parsing engine. I've been spending a great deal of time actually playing the game and not writing this, so I thought I'd at least get this out there so people can start playing with the new features.
There are a few known issues in this release (for example, feed pet is still not in there), but most of them are slated for the next release.
Head over to the main page to download it now!

Allara saidJust dropping a note to let everyone know that HitsMode 3 is currently under development and should be released in a week or two. It features an entirely new parser that works in any localization, a DPS combat summary, interactive help system, presets, and more! Stay tuned.

Allara saidHey Elieehel, is there anything you'd like me to help out with to get HitsMode up-to-date? I don't have much time, but I am a professional developer so I can probably churn some stuff out pretty quickly. Let me know. (In case Curse is messed up, this is Allara, the original developer.)

Demythri saidI downloaded the mod and noticed that when I choose the option to remove the scrolling arrows from the side of the Hitsmode window, they never go away? The start to flicker and don't do anything other than that. I've tried everything I can think of and read the note that mentioned "Closing the Hitsmode Config window" would make it work?
Still having the same problem, any ideas?

I am unable to reproduce this issue. You might have another add-on that is conflicting with HitsMode. Try disabling all your add-ons and enabling them one by one until you see the problem occur. Let me know if you discover more details about this issue and I'll get if fixed.

Allara said@Scudmarx:
>>> I would like to display all healing I cast in one chatbox and all healing I receive in another. At the moment it works fine except when I heal myself - it appears as a heal received but not as a heal cast, would be good if it would appear in both boxes, as it is both.
Actually, healing yourself shows up as a heal *cast*, not a heal received. This is because WoW does not generate both events, only one. I'm going to try adding a new event "You Heal Yourself" that would be in addition to the existing event, and that you can put anywhere you like.

Scudmarx saidLove this AddOn so much, but here's my requests:
I would like to display all healing I cast in one chatbox and all healing I receive in another. At the moment it works fine except when I heal myself - it appears as a heal received but not as a heal cast, would be good if it would appear in both boxes, as it is both.
Secondly I would just ask for a general lightening of the addon - Hitsmode is using quite a lot of memory at the moment; I hope this is something that can be avoided.
Finally a threshold setting might be nice, so I can automatically filter out all damage and healing that is less than a certain amount. I suppose that goes to Ojoo's post on Shadow Priests.
Thanks again for maintaining this great AddOn :D

Elieehel saidWhew. Been a while since I stopped by this page - bloody military exercises taking up all my time TT_TT.
Anyway, from now on I should be able to properly update this mod and continue to improve it as I have (tried to do) done in the past. Sorry for the lack of activity, but it really couldn't be helped. :F

Ojoo saidI don't think this guy is playing wow anymore, prob will need someone else to pick it up. Also i've noticed when you play for say 2-3hours Hitsmode really starts to eat up the memory it goes from like 1mb -> 8 or 9mb, not sure what is making it do that.

2rbear saidI think the text output is a bit messy :/ ex. "[you] Mangle crit [target] for *800*" (:D nice crit for a lvl 54, don't ya think?:P) ex2. "[you] [dot] suffer [enemy] for [damage]" :/ is it supposed to be like this??
If you fix these small issues, and perhaps change the text for ability-hits to something like this: "your Mangle crit [target] for *800*" instead of the "[you] Mangle crit [target] for *800*"
I do think this is a very convenient addon, much tidier than the messy combat log :P, and with some nice features too :)
