tradeDispenser is an automatic trader.
it's very usefull for raidleaders and mages for distributing different items to different classes. (depending on their level, class, guildmember and whatever)
Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

there you'll get the latest version of tD, which *should* be fixed.

Terra_Branford saidI had to disable TD because every time I right clicked a useable item in my inventory I'd get a "tradeDispenser 0.97 has been blocked by the Blizzard UI".
It's a shame. I finally get my cinnabons and TD gets broken, and from the author's note above, broken until January 16th at the earliest.
Pooey.

Hikari saidIt's happening here too. As soon as somebody opens trade window it's canceled and nothing is traded.
It seems to be a great addon :)

Rawbinary saidWell the first trade works fine, I simply have to switch it on after every trade, its still a improvement, "one-button-trade", but it would be a lot better if it worked fully

Hikari saidAs soon as anybody trades with me it works, but the addon disables itself and this message appears:
tradeDispenser.lua:690: attempt to perform arithimetic on field 'itemCount' (a nil value)

FBX saidThis would be a 5-star mod if it weren't for several problems which have been detailed by others. Big important fixes and suggestions:
1. Make it so I don't have to click the trade button after it drops my waters in the trade window.
2. The mod deactivates after every trade. This sucks!
3. Random error message about itemcount nil value (seems to fix when reopening the options window).
4. A working option to completely disable all the code fluff about registering player databases and customer charges. I just want a mod that passes out 2 stacks of my water to my party and/or raid. Not all this crap about customer charges and whatnot. As it is now, the mod still does a lot of background data collecting about my party mates after trading with them, even though I uncheck those options. I don't want it doing this at all.

Xanatan saidIt has more bugs than that.
5.Sometimes is suddenly trades two stacks (water for me as with most probably) which I didnt programme it to do. I open td and see two stacks in the window, I didnt put the second one there. I click on it and poof it's gone only to return after some time
6. Disabling classes is a nice function, it doesnt work though. I disable warriors, and suddenly I cant trade druids either.
7. Sometimes I have like 8 stacks of water, trade someone, and then it gives the message I'm out of stacks in /s and /w. That's nonsense.
8. Sometimes it doesnt trade at all when it is activated, no idea why. Seems mainly focused on hunters but that could be a coincidence.
9. The random selecting of different texts to broadcast is a nice option, it doesnt work though. When I have two able for instance I get error messages. Or I just get the first message.
All the other bugs FBX posted are true as well. Mainly the deactivation part and the more trading than it should part piss me off.
It's a GREAT mod and I love the new additions, please fix it to make it work!

zoeckler saidThanks for the fixes! 2 questions... is there a timeout set in case the other guy never clicks accept? It seems like it'll just sit there with the trade window open forever. It should tell them to accept after a few seconds, or else cancel the trade.
Also, I did not check the 'all classes' vs. 'specific classes' thing that seems to be causing problems, but everything else seems to be working! Great job.

FBX saidJust checking to see when we might see an update. My guildies have been asking when I can get that sweet-ass mod going again, but I'm having to tell them I can't use it until it gets the fixes in an updated version.
I messed around with the code a bit myself, but I don't have the time to make a full working version with the registration code removed.
