  • About WoW Macro Creator
  •

WoW Macro Creator is an out of game utility that helps you to create general and character-specific macros for the World of Warcraft Game. The application is built around fully coded insert commands that allow you to customize and build your macro using exact formatting and syntax required for the macros to function and work inside the game. Once the macros are created, you can build macros-cache.txt files and even backup/overwrite your existing ones

Also: The source files were added with Version 2.3.0. You can find all of the source files under the Source directory. You can even use autoit to compile the files yourself and use the .ico file for the icon located there. The application is now 100% open source. If compiling, you compile using the 2.3.0.base.au3 file. The other files are the includes. You will have to go http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/ in order to download and use the compiler. All of the .au3 files can be opened with any editor, including a text editor.

    FIXED:

Voice Macros were not generated properly.
Cleaned up old functions that were unused.
Separated the main application into several includes to better manage the app.
Removed UPX file compression that was causing a false positive to show up with BitDefender.

    ADDED:

    55 new icons were added.
New Sounds and updated sounds were added.

You only have to uninstall and reinstall when there are major changes - on every x.x.0 version - ignore the x.x.1 - x.x.9 as these are just minor updates to the platform. There are times when this is necessary and I don't really want to go to another installer. Thanks for the input though.

So on x.x.1 - x.x.9 - just install right over the program. When the version changes to 2.3.0 you would consider that a major update. There will be very few updates going forward. The only things I have planned for the remainder of this set is to fix any bugs or polish up any existing code.

The framework for the beta app is already in place now (imports, exports, inserts, macro premade functions, and customization). So, just fixing and ironing out bugs now.

What I might do is just add an "upgrade version" which allows overwriting, and a full version.

    like it but...
could you add a kind of update possibility from net or installer ? it's annoying to uninstall and install every time you publish a new version...

    Version 2.2.1 Released

    2.2.1 Changes:

    FIXED:

Fixed an issue with the Insert commands not functioning properly. It was a small mistake on one of the parameter functions. This is now fixed.

Version 2.2.0 now released. Because of significant additions, this is the latest new full version.

2.2.0: Added significant changes with the implementation of pre-made macros. Now you can add pre-made macros for general types and all specific class types. In addition, you now have the ability to author and contribute pre-made macros that can be sent directly to me and added into future versions. Fixed: Corrected the behavior of the number 18 general macro button as it was not functioning as intended.

    Authoring Macros:

Anyone can now author pre-made macros for use with WMC. Please read the new help file at my website regarding WoW Macros > Pre-made Macros and on that page, I've outlined a complete instructional tutorial on how to author pre-made macros. Once you finish the macros you wish to contribute, zip them up and email them to me and I will add them into the next version release. As this is a community project, this part is very important to me and I will need everyone's help to continue making it a very polished community project.

    Thank you.

    Version 2.1.4 is now released.

Fixed: Import process should now work properly. Importing general files that go beyond single digits will now import properly. Importing macro numbers that go beyond the range of 1-18 or 17-34 for the different macros-cache.txt file types will now result in the numbers for those macros being re-sequenced and renumbered accordingly. INI files are also cleaned up after import.

    Thank you.

I'll have 2.1.4 released by this weekend. In 2.1.4 I've fixed the import process so that if you have out of range macro numbers (general for instance should be 1-18) - if any macros are outside of this range in general or 17-34 for character - it will resort them and number them correctly during the import process. It also will cleanup your character.ini files for the program and removed any icons that are not assigned to macros.

Overall, it's a good addition once I release it. After 2.1.4, unless any further bug surfaces, I will be moving on to version 2.2.0 which will house prefab macros for each class allowing anyone the ability to author macros for the program. More will be explained later on about this feature.

Version 2.1.3 has now been released. I am now housing the application here and on my main website. You can download them from either location. This is to help improve bandwidth and track downloads.

    2/28/2008
    • Ability to import General and Character specific macros-cache.txt files into the program, updating complete profile sets. This allows you to take your existing macros and import them into the program without having to create them from scratch. The import process only overwrites the macros which are equal to the numbers contained within your macros-cache.txt files.
    • Added the missing icon for “question mark” in the icons folder.

    2/28/2008
    • Preview color syntax checking now works for multiple option sets and parameters within one line.

Updated to WoW Macro Creator Version 2.1.2 which fixes missing characters when creating new profiles as well as the functionality of the /use command which now acts more appropriately like the /cast command - allowing command sequencing on one single line.

Visit the forums on my site, post your problem there. Follow the guidelines I gave for bug reports (if in fact this is a bug). I'm leaning more to an improper folder structure in your WTF folder. I only support problems from the bug report section of my site. In your bug report include the exact directory structure for your WTF folder. I'll help you find the solution. Thanks.
