  • About Recount (Preservation)
  •

Recount is a graphical damage meter written by Cryect. Recount (Preservation) is an attempt to preserve it through the 2.4 patch and fix up some minor things along the way. If Cryect returns the project really should be wholely his and he can keep or abandon any changes I've made here.

For details about Recount see Cryect's original project page at:

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/8840/

For changes see the change log. Beta versions can be found on WoWAce.

I updated Recount a couple days ago, have tried to delete the folder and reinstall from both Curse and WowAce and I'm getting no data posted in the Recount window.
I just got the following error. Any ideas?

I'm loving the addon. But there's one thing I need to know:
Is it possible to run _TWO_ Recounts at the same time? One that activly shows Healing Done and one that activly shows Damage Done?

Check screenshot for better understanding ;) http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/DOUBLERECOUNT.jpg

I am having problems bringing Recount back after accidentally closing it on one of my characters (hit the little X). I've gone into the setup and tried almost everything to try and get it back up, but to no avail. I have even gone as far as uninstalling and re-installing but still I can't get Recount to come back up for one character.

I'm sure this is something really simple, but it's eluding me. If this was answered elsewhere in this thread, I didn't see it and apologize for asking (but still need a tip to bring it back up).
    ---

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. /recount show

Thanks for a good tool / addon.

Is there a way to get Recount to hide when you're not in a party? I'm too lazy to manually hide and show it :P

Hmm. Everything works fine kind of, but the "Deaths" Tab doesnt show anything anymore. It used to work fine, then all of a sudden I could only see pets, and now absolutely nothing. Any ideas?

  • May 9, 2008, 06:21PM (4 days, 6 hours ago)

I've the same problem... for many week. (I don't try the latest version upload today).
but yesterday I still see pet death.

another bug, since my last comment here about that (one or two month ago), localized version doesn't work at all (at least FR one). I wanted to do all the localization, but if I can't even test it :(

Deaths for players do not show in the combat log (you can try this yourself, there is no "You died." message). This is a blizz bug that is already fixed on the current 2.4.2 PTR, so it should be live in 1-2 weeks from now.

You will see deaths from NPCs and pets in the death log until then, not players.

Sync is automatic between players in a group that use recount, their pets and boss data is sync'd too. Just players who do not use recount are not currently sync'd.

All syncing happens out of combat to avoid degradation of performance during fighting.

  • May 9, 2008, 07:50AM (4 days, 17 hours ago)

Hey how does the sync thing work between ppl is it automatic or does it have to be set up.

  • May 7, 2008, 07:59AM (6 days, 17 hours ago)

There are zone dependent data collection filters available and there is a global switch called global data collect. If you want no data collection in BGs simple disable the battleground and arena filters.

Pre 2.4, there used to be a feature to turn off recording of data - /recount standby

Has this been removed, or changed to another command? I don't always want it recording, especially in BG's

  • May 4, 2008, 06:09PM (1 week, 2 days ago)

ok that prompts my next question, is there a feature in recount that i havent found yet that lets you save data sets like recap does?

  • May 4, 2008, 06:04PM (1 week, 2 days ago)

@Totem bug: Latest version fixes that: r72627.

@aceconfig: that's an ace3 bug. I reported it, they haven't fixed it. Any command with desc in it is not supposed to exist or do anything so just don't use them. They are description texts for the graphic config that don't get properly hidden from the commandline by ace3.

I am getting similar errors but without doing anything at all, just going in and out of combat can trigger an error text. I'll check if it is related to totems being up closeby.

i keep getting an error when i type /recount datadesc (which i would guess is supposed to be the menu that would let me save data sets?) and i know next to nothing about lua so i dont really have any idea how to try to fix this or even look at whats going on, heres the error:

...\aceconfig-3.0\aceconfigcmd-3.0\aceconfigcmd-3.0.lua:660: aceconfigcmd-3.0: /recount datadesc: unknown options table item type 'description'
