- About WHDB
WHDB is a quest info database that integrates into your quest log, provides location and drop info for monsters and item objectives and quest comments.
WHDB can plot notes with objective locations into the map if you are using one of these addons: [OPTIONAL]
- Cartographer
- Metamap
- MapNotes.
Also it try to plot comments coordinates if found.
The quest database provides comments, locations and drop info from Wowhead using the comments database from qData project (also in cursegaming) and two more databases created by me that contains npc locations and item drops.
Also, WHDB can integrate with [OPTIONAL]:
- Extended Quest Log 3 (EQL3)
- QuestGuru
I will add support for other addons (that not use the default quest log frame) in future versions. Note that this addon is mainly designed for the original blizzard's quest log.
WHDB provides too some commandline commands to search info for quests you don't have.
For now it consumes about 14mb of memory to store all the databases. I plan to reduce this by partitioning the databases betwen level ranges and using load on demand but for now it's affordable. At least it produces minium garbage.
Use /whdb help to get info about the slash commands available.
Note: Cartographer, Metamap or MapNotes are OPTIONAL. EQL3 and QuestGuru are supported but NOT NEEDED AT ALL. qData is included in the package.
Note2: WHDB stands for WowHeadDataBase.

JimbyJones saiddude, i used to use this add on religously, its is by far the best add on ever! is there a version of it that works on game version 2.4.0?? i wish i hadn't updated my game coz i just cant get this add on to work any more!! Sorry if i'm being really dumb, is there anything i can do?? WoW is just not any where near as much fun without WHDB... : (

Have a question though read somewhere that it was possible to get all the mining spots on the map by writing something like: /whdb item mithril veins
Is it possible?
I've tried it but never got it to work (since i'm a noob i pressed enter in game and wrote it, dunno if i should write it somwhere else)

wallix saidI stopped using the feature where it marks the map. It was WAY too messy, inaccurate, and random. However, I do use it to read quest comments without having to alt-tab back to windows. Would be nice to see the comments cleaned up a bit as it uses insane amounts of RAM.

gstarttrustguest saidgreat addon needs updated and twinked alil i find some comments arent too helpfull and misleading sometimes and that the marks are sometimes off or not even on the map. its a good add on and ill stick w/ it.

The addon's great, but it keeps using 16mb and slows down my 25-man raiding etc. Or would there be a way to turn it off or anything whilst your not needing quest help?
If not then would logging out and simply turning it off work?
p.s Sorry, I'm not the best with computers :-)

Msshamypants saidDownloaded this addon last night. Currently have 1 Level 70, and am working on a 67 Hunter and a 61 Shaman, but has been so long I was forgetting where quests were at, or exactly what I needed to do. A quick test run last night amazed me. The quest log now provides me with detailed information as to what I need to do, coordinates of where I need to go, and with Cartographer, the map can pop up with the click of a button and show me where to go. An amazing addon that I am sure will help me finish leveling these 2 charcaters real fast, and maybe level some more while we wait for the next expansion. Thanks!
