Description: The "Less Lag, More Loot " Contest ("Contest") begins at 12:01 AM PT on Thursday, November 13, 2008 and ends at 12:00 AM PT on Monday, December 15, 2008 ("Contest Period"). The Sponsor of this Contest is CURSE, Inc. ("Sponsor").
How to Enter: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter the sweepstakes, visit http://www.curse.com/contests/less-lag-more-loot/enter.aspx and fill in the required information to be entered to win. A completed entry form must have your first and last name, your Curse e-mail address, mailing address and age (you must have a valid email address to participate in this sweepstakes). Curse Inc. assumes no responsibility for lost, misdirected or late entries or entries containing incorrect or incomplete information.
Winner Selection and Notification: Sponsor shall select the prize winners on or about Dec 31, 2008 by random drawing from among all eligible entries received. The only entries that will be considered eligible entries are entries received within the time frames described above that contain the required information. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received. Winners will be notified by e-mail and must respond within seven (7) calendar days or an alternate winner will be chosen. All prizes will be shipped to the winners within 6-8 weeks of the receipt of signed affidavits for approved entries.
Eligibility: The sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are eighteen (18) years or older at the time of entry. Only one entry per person. More than one entry from any person or email address may void all entries from that person or email address. Employees of Sponsor and its affiliates, and immediate family members of such employees, are not eligible to enter. This sweepstakes is subject to all applicable laws and is void where prohibited. By participating in this sweepstakes, entrant agrees to abide by and be bound by these rules and the decision of the Sponsor, which shall be final and binding. All submissions become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Prizes: Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive: one (1) Alienware® Aurora Online Gaming Edition QuickShip Desktop* featuring the Killer NIC™ K1 Gaming Network Card from Bigfoot Networks. Estimated retail value of the Grand Prize is $1,899. First Prize: Three (3) First Prize Winners will be selected to receive One (1) Killer NIC™ M1 Gaming Network Card from Bigfoot Networks. Estimated retail value of each First Prize is $249. Second Prize: Twenty-five (25) Second Prize Winners will be selected to receive One (1) Killer ‘K-Bling’ necklace. Estimated retail value of each Second Prize is $10. Winners will be responsible for any and all federal, state and/or local taxes resulting from acceptance of the prize. Prize winners cannot assign or transfer the prize to another person. No cash or prize substitution is allowed except at the discretion of Sponsor. All prizes will be awarded. If a prize cannot be awarded due to circumstances beyond the control of Sponsor, a substitute prize of equal or greater retail value will be awarded; provided, however, that if prizes are awarded but unclaimed/forfeited by recipient, prize may not be re-awarded, in Sponsor's sole discretion. Other restrictions may apply.
Conditions of Participation and Release: WINNER ASSUMES ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES OR DAMAGE CAUSED OR CLAIMED TO BE CAUSED BY PARTICIPATION IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR BY THE USE OR MISUSE OF ANY PRIZE. By entering the sweepstakes, each prize winner grants Sponsor permission to use his or her name, city, state/province, e-mail address, photograph or likeness, voice and entry for advertising, publicity or other purposes without additional consent and compensation except where prohibited by law. Each prize winner must be eighteen (18) years or older, and will be further required to submit an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release and confirmation that the prize winner has followed the rules of the sweepstakes, in the form supplied by Sponsor (the "Affidavit and Release"), signed by the prize winner (if the prize winner is under eighteen (18) years of age, the Affidavit and Release must be signed and submitted by a parent or legal guardian with due authority). The Affidavit and Release must be signed and returned within seven (7) days of receipt. In the event the Affidavit and Release is not returned as described above, an alternate winner may be selected for such prize. Any prize notification or prize returned to the Sponsor as undeliverable will result in the awarding of that prize to an alternate winner (who will be required to comply with similar procedures).
BY ENTERING THE SWEEPSTAKES, EACH ENTRANT RELEASES SPONSOR, ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES AND BUSINESS PARTNERS, AND THE EMPLOYEES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, AGENTS, ATTORNEYS, SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS OF ANY OF THE FOREGOING, FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS OR LIABILITY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES, LOSSES OR INJURIES, SUFFERED BY THE ENTRANT OR ANY THIRD PARTIES IN CONNECTION WITH PARTICIPATION IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR ACCEPTANCE OR USE, MISUSE OR MALFUNCTION OF ANY PRIZE AWARDED. By entering the sweepstakes, entrants acknowledge compliance with these sweepstakes rules (including without limitation all eligibility requirements). All matters relating to the interpretation and application of these rules shall be decided by Sponsor in its sole discretion. By entering the sweepstakes, entrants and prize winners grant Sponsor permission to use his or her name, address, email address, photograph and likeness, voice and entry for advertising, publicity or other purposes without additional consent or compensation except where prohibited by law. For names of prizewinners after Jan 1, 2009 send a stamped, self-addressed No. 10 envelope to Contest Information, Curse Inc., 351 California Street, 14th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94104.
In the event of any dispute, entries made by Internet will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. Authorized account holder is deemed as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider or other online organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. If the potentially winning entry is an Internet or other computer entry, potential winner may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the potentially winning entry. If for any reason (including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this sweepstakes) the sweepstakes is not capable of being conducted as described in these rules, Sponsor shall have the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the sweepstakes. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including, without limitation, any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading any materials in this sweepstakes.
