Recommended Grouping AddOns
Grouping is typically done within instances, though there are times where you'll need to find a group for outdoor elite quests, or maybe even if you want to speed up the leveling process by teaming up with a friend to go through quests quicker. The default interface can be rather bland, so we've put together a list of recommended AddOns to check out, that should enhance your grouping experience.
Unit Frames
- PitBull -- This is by far the best unitframes out there right now. It is highly customizable and it's lightweight as well. It's surpassed ag_Unitframes in many ways.
Instance/Outdoor Map Enhancements
- Cartographer -- Who could be without this great addon? It show you all the maps in the game 100% explored -- even if you haven't been there yet. It add maps to instances and other useful information about locations, etc. Basically, it helps you find your way easier and better. A must have.
Action Bars
- Bongos2 -- While the default action bars are decent, Bongos 2 bring customizing to a whole new level. If you are serious about World of Warcraft and need more then what the default action bars offer -- this is the #1 choice. By the way, even if you're unsure if you need more, check out Bongos2 to be certain you do not miss out.
Cooldown Timers
- OmniCC -- Keeping track of 8 different cooldown timers can get tedious and also distracting. Not to mention certain cooldowns are easy to forget. OmniCC keep track of them all for you and makes it simple. Result is that you can focus on other things while OmniCC does the work for you. OmniCC can also alert you when certain abilities are ready, not to mention it's a highly customizable addon.
Cast and Timer Bars
- Natur EnemyCastBar -- Everything you ever need in regards to cast and timer bars. It show you so much useful information. Even include addons for bosses and their abilities.
Combat Log
- HitsMode -- The default combat log in WoW lacks... everything. HitsMode is the remedy to this. Customize the combatlog to display information you actually WANT to see. Clean and neat.
Scrolling Combat Text
- ScrollingCombatText -- This addon have been around forever. Blizzard even released their own SCT - SCT answer? A further improved version that blow all other SCT addons away. SCT can be depended on - it has all you ever want and need when it comes to scrolling combat text - and a little bit more.
Damage Parsers
- Recount (Preservation) -- Knowing your performance (and others!) in terms of damage, healing, damage taken, healing taken etc is nice. Recount helps you with this. Locate the slackers and note the people that bring their A-game. Great for many things.
Inventory Management
- OneBag -- Tired of having all your bags split up? Does it take you time to find what you seek? OneBag is the answer. It combines ALL your bags into one neat and tidy window. Great for inventory management. Don't leave your town without it.
Miscellaneous AddOns
- RatingBuster -- Converts different ratings into more meaningful information (percentage) - very nice addon to have. Certainly makes your life easier.
- PallyPower (Highly recommended for Paladins) -- Must have addon as a paladin. Helps you out so much when buffing. Barely needs an explanation. Assign each paladin in the raid on what buffs to cast. Get a neat overview on who has what assigned. It shows you the timers of each buff you cast on each class and more.
