  • The path to Exalted with the Shattered Sun Offensive

The release of Patch 2.4 brings along with it a new faction: the Shattered Sun Offensive. Comprised of both the Aldor and the Scryers this force is the Sha’tar’s united front against the Burning Legion’s presence on the Isle of Quel’Danas. Players that gain reputation with this new faction will have access to several new items, new crafting recipes, a new resilience head slot enchant, a new stylish tabard, and a new title, “of the Shattered Sun.”

To gain standing with the Shattered Sun Offensive players may undertake a brand new collection of daily quests both on the Isle of Quel’Danas and in Outland. In addition to these daily quests reputation is also granted for killing NPC’s in the new 5-person instance Magisters’ Terrace and in the new 25-person raid instance Sunwell Plateau.

Isle of Quel’Danas Daily Quests

These daily quests are all accepted, completed, and turned in on the Isle of Quel’Danas. They are very short and doing all 10 quests should only take 20-30 minutes. Running these every day is the most time efficient way to gain reputation with the Shattered Sun Offensive with a complete run rewarding 2300 reputation. In addition to reputation these quests are extremely lucrative offering 104-gold, and 94-silver per day for about 30 minutes or less worth of work.

There is one additional daily quest on the Isle but it is not recommended that you complete it. For the cost of 10 gold Anchorite Ayuri in Sun’s Reach will give you 150 Shattered Sun Offensive reputation, for the quest Your Continued Support. With the high rate of reputation gain with the Shattered Sun it is suggested that you hold on to your gold. Completing this quest every day for 2 weeks would still not even give as much reputation as a single day’s worth of the 10 Isle daily quests.

Outland Daily Quests

These remaining daily quests are offered by several different NPC’s on the Isle of Quel’Danas and in the Outlands. While not as quick and easy as the Isle’s daily quests they are still rich in reputation and gold rewards. They offer a maximum potential of 2550 additional Shattered Sun Offensive reputation per day.

Magisters’ Terrace

The Magisters’ Terrace is the new group instance that launches with Patch 2.4. The zone itself is relatively short and contains four boss encounters. The difficulty is on par with the toughest of the Outlands dungeons and it offers a good selection of loot.

Normal and heroic difficulties award the same amount of reputation and both give reputation all the way until exalted. The trash NPC’s award about 12 reputation per kill with the bosses awarding 120. A complete clearing of the instance should net 1200-1300 reputation.

The quest chain for heroic attunement has three steps and gives 750-reputation in total for completing. The quest begins at Exarch Larethor in the Shattered Sun Staging Area on the Isle of Quel’Danas. To finish the series you will need to complete the Magisters’ Terrace instance on normal difficulty.
