World of warcraft Provides people with the ability to interact socially. This sort of social interaction is by design clickish. Form a Guild, one person is the GM, give your members ranks and responcibilities. For the Majority of the People that Play WoW, this is just a way to make sure they are able to complete thier in game objectives. Any true terrorist organization isn't going to use a public entity such as WoW to construct a terrorist cell, unless they are absolutely retarted, upon which they could hardly be considered a threat.

Yeah, the government really must be slipping if us WoW geeks are supposed to be the new rolemodels for training the military and CIA in ways to deal with terrorism. oh boy. i'm really cringing at the fact that this is MY government, of MY country. where, oh where, did we go so wrong??
This is a game. This is fun. When we start to equate the game with terrorist strategies, we go right back to the thought that violence on TV and in video games is what makes people kill other people. It's a skewed viewpoint, and it's skewed in a completely false direction. This has the potential to be a huge media nightmare on so many levels. argh.

Having coped flak from all the "Video games are direct links to obesity" and all those other lines... the fact that they are trying to link wow to terrorism in this manner makes me sick. Its a computer game, it has no bearing on real life, it doesn't even factor in any aspects of real life. In all honesty, I expected more about this from the rumored "Tom Clancy MMO" since that is pretty much about terrorists and counter terrorists.

Given the average common sense quotiant of most of the political hacks in "Homeland Security" I wouldn't put it past them to fund a study on this and waste a few billion dollars of our tax money. On the other hand if the Taliban and Al Qida start gaming on WoW to learn how to counter the counter terrorists it could be a big income boost for Blizzard! (lol like they need it)
