Northrend Flying Mount Level Hinted At

Bornakk - the latest addition to the World of Warcraft Community team - responded to a thread today regarding flying mounts and a player's request to allow their use in Northrend starting at level 70.

So it looks like right now players can expect to be able to use their flying mount starting at level 78, but this is of course still in the decision process, so it could be higher or lower once the expansion launches. Thoughts?

Flying Mounts in Northrend - a bit of information

It looks like flying mounts will be available in Northrend, per a post by an EU Community Manager, Vaneras. There still haven't been final decisions on when you're able to use them, though. At BlizzCon it was mentioned that you'll likely not be able to use them right away, but will be able to eventually.

The reason for the potential delay in free-roaming is to allow the development team a chance to design and create exciting and interesting content which people will not simply fly over and ignore.

There is a lot of work being put into quest lines, locations, events and more for the expansion. We want to make sure people can get the full benefit of all of that hard work.

The Warcraft 3 team from Lordaeron has switched platforms and has attracted themselves a sponsor, FlyingFoo, to boot which has already provided them with equipment and ventrilo servers. Rumors have it that undead wc3 player Canuck is planning on joining this team as well.

Ner'zhul Team ZZ is looking forward to high competition in the next arena season. Currently the team has organized a team of almost all new characters in order to create what they believe the perfect arena team, and aim to have their team fully functional in one month.

There line-up is currently, Mage Priest Paladin Warrior Alternate(Rogue/Hunter/Warrior)

Many people believe these players can rise quickly to the top at the start of the next season, as they have over 8 years combined in WoW PvP experience backing them up. The leader, Vex_Marquise said"I have high hopes for his new team but I still feel they have quite a while to go before they will be playing as tightly as the other teams."

Druid Epic Flying Form

Over on the official forums, Tseric casually mentions that Druids will have a quest line to upgrade their flying form to epic speeds in an upcoming patch. There are no details on the quest line itself, but you will need to buy the epic flying skill first -- this ain't a free ride.

The guys over at Atomicmpc.com.au recently visited Blizzard HQ and met with the designers and company founders to get the lowdown on Burning Crusade - which they got by the bucketload, plus a bonus insight into what drives this secretive, perfectionist and deeply idealistic creative company. Although most of the information is already known from various other sources, it is still a good read and includes some new information regarding PvP and Arena rewards.
