Quote from: Bornakk (Source)

The current plan is to allow players to use their flying mounts once a character hits level 77 in Northrend. I understand you feel they don't add to aspects of the game that you are looking for, but we believe they do add to the game and we are building the new content with the ability to use them in mind.

You will be able to use the same mounts that you currently use in Outland. There will be some sort of process to complete to be able to use the mount once a character hits level 77, but the exact details are undecided at this time. If you are referring to needing a large sum of gold to use them, sort of like a new tier of flying skill, that isn't the current plan.

From a design standpoint, we don’t want people to just fly over continent and skip things when they are leveling up. Instead we want people to explore and experience the environment around them when they first reach the shores of Northrend. You will walk (or ride) from one quest to another as the zones unfold before you instead of just flying over it without batting an eye.

At some point though you will definitely be able to fly in Northrend. We are currently thinking around level 78, but haven’t made a final call on this yet.

As a reminder, it is against the forum code of conduct to request a certain person or Blizzard Employee to reply to a thread. We prefer to leave the threads open to discussion so that everybody can reply. Thank you for your attention to this!

So it looks like right now players can expect to be able to use their flying mount starting at level 78, but this is of course still in the decision process, so it could be higher or lower once the expansion launches. Thoughts?

There still haven't been final decisions on when you're able to use them, though. At BlizzCon it was mentioned that you'll likely not be able to use them right away, but will be able to eventually.

Flying mounts will be available in Northrend.

However, it has not yet been decided if they will be available as soon as you get there or how far into your exploration you will be soaring through the icy skies.

The reason for the potential delay in free-roaming is to allow the development team a chance to design and create exciting and interesting content which people will not simply fly over and ignore.

There is a lot of work being put into quest lines, locations, events and more for the expansion. We want to make sure people can get the full benefit of all of that hard work.

Rumors have it that undead wc3 player Canuck is planning on joining this team as well.

Ner'zhul Team ZZ is looking forward to high competition in the next arena season. Currently the team has organized a team of almost all new characters in order to create what they believe the perfect arena team, and aim to have their team fully functional in one month.

There line-up is currently,
Mage
Priest
Paladin
Warrior
Alternate(Rogue/Hunter/Warrior)

Many people believe these players can rise quickly to the top at the start of the next season, as they have over 8 years combined in WoW PvP experience backing them up. The leader, Vex_Marquise said"I have high hopes for his new team but I still feel they have quite a while to go before they will be playing as tightly as the other teams."

Although most of the information is already known from various other sources, it is still a good read and includes some new information regarding PvP and Arena rewards.

>Atomicmpc.com.au writes:
>
>Not everyone wants to raid, but everyone wants top items. Previously raids and quests were the only way to get top items. To give players something cool to do to get those items without the ‘grind’, Blizzard is introducing the Arena system.
>
>Tom Chilton explains the workings: ‘With BC the Arena system gives rewards on par with the best you’ll find in the rest of the game. Any time we start new raids, we’ll start a new Arena season that gives us the opportunity to add a new set of Arena rewards to keep up with that. Each season lasts three months, and at the end of that, based on your position on the ladder, each person in the top team is going to receive an Epic armoured Netherdrake mount.’
>
>So as a motivation for playing the Arena, you’ll score items equal with the best available, the Epic mount and the simple prestige of strutting around as numero uno.
