Black Temple and Hyjal Tuning

Well, it looks like some of the bosses may have been a bit too easy afterall. Daelo posted on the Raids & Dungeons Forum that there are some changes being made to the difficulty of certain bosses in Black Temple and Hyjal.

Based upon further feedback from guilds in Black Temple and Hyjal, we've decided to make some difficulty adjustments to many of the later bosses. As a general rule, the changes increase the damage dealt by the encounter to the raid. Note that due to the timing and nature of the changes made, some of the tooltips for the retuned abilities will be incorrect.

The encounters changed include:

Gurtogg Bloodboil

Teron Gorefiend
Mother Shahraz
The Illidari Council
Illidan Stormrage
Archimonde

Our intent is not to make the encounters impossible. Even with the increased difficulty, I do expect some of them to be quickly beaten again after guilds experience the changes and adapt.

As a side note, the 2.1.1 patch did include the change to the Archimonde encounter that increases his leash distance and made the Well of Eternity a bad place for casters to be near.

World First Kills - Mother Shahraz and Illidari Council

The EU-Magtheridon guild Nihilum continues on their roll after their Essence of Souls World First by killing two more encounters in Black Temple - Mother Shahraz and the [Illidari Council] - leaving only Illidan left, who they are working on as I write this.

Black Temple Preview

In the massacre's aftermath the warlocks of the Shadow Council seized the structure and bestowed upon it a new name: the Black Temple."

Blizzard has just released a preview video of the Black Temple coming in patch 2.1. The video includes a little background story of the temple. It's very well put together and definitely worth checking out.

2.1 PTR: Nihilum takes a trip to the Black Temple

Yesterday, Nihilum took a break from working on Kael'thas, to check out the Black Temple on the EU Public Test Realm. They downed the first two bosses, High Warlord Naj'entus and Supremus, and picked up some new loots that were previously undiscovered, including a fairly incredible one-handed axe. 2.1 PTR: New items from Black Temple!

There's a great thread going on over on the Elitist Jerks forum, where they're compiling items dropped from Black Temple. Yesterday there were more items found, and a new encounter tested for the first time: Shade of Akama.

All of the new loot found yesterday is listed below.

New Black Temple Loots

During a Death and Taxes raid on the PTR, the first two bosses were death touched by a GM, so that further content in the zone could be tested. High Warlord Najentus dropped new loot, and you can see loot from Supremus for the first time, in the images below. The third boss, Gurtogg Bloodboil also died, but he was death touched while not tagged by the raid and the loot was lost.

Attunement to Black Temple

An extensive attunement is required to enter the Black Temple. Here is the official attunement chain posted by Blizzard. Beware however that the attunement chart was posted on April 1st, so caution is required before reading further.
