Its All WOW

Sorry that Pet name is Reserved

I love my Night Elf Hunter.

I decided to get a pet ape, and went to name Him and recived this interface message

That name is reserved. Pick another name.

I wanted a fun name, for my  Hardknuckle forager

Lets face it they look toff, but a fruit eating gorilla, who doesn't attack when you walk by one, doesn't seem to be the toughest of apes.

so the Name I came up with was

GongoGoBongo

I neaver had that message before when naming a pet.

So I am wondering how many hunters have ?

I had this idea that probably it's those names that form Warcraft lore that were forbidden. So I just made a little test and rolled an orc huntress on one of the normal EU realms. Named the char Draka and it let me do it. (Draka is Durotan's mate and mother of Thrall, if you remember, from "Warcraft: Lord of the clans"^^)

In this book, Durotan has a wolf named Sharptooth so I tamed a prowler (the ones in Elwyn Forest area - yes, I had to travel a bit in ghost form and resurrect at enemy graveyard for that because the wolf should be color of the snow according to lore, again,- named it Sharptooth and it let me do it. This meant my theory was wrong and probably as soon as the name of a hero is not present in WoW you are free to call either your pet or your character as one) ...and hope not to be banned for that=P

Guess Blizzard would make a hunter's life bit easier if they just stickied  the list of reserved names somewhere in the forums though.

Thst name is reserved  for use on the Thorbjørn Jaglands pet. It kind of like a royalety.

I'm thinking the system probably didn't allow that name because it contains the word "bong" and the message you got was a diplomatic way of saying no.

It can be that some names may be "banned" even though that sounds very unlogical...

Same thing happened to me several times. I do not even recall what names I wanted to use, but one was the name of some rockstar pet I looked up on the internet :)

Yes Congogobongo was the reserved name

I tried a few variations on the name and they came up with same message
