yes I know who makes need for speed ... I was just using it for a example as a game that is the same thing over and over and over. yet people buy it.

and the comment on doing this before HL EP3 .. well in a business sense it makes perfect sense. is it right ... prob not, but in the $ sense.. you better believe it. l4d 2 is a money makes and they want to get it out asap. soo.. lol I understand the rush to get it out...

do not take anything I am saying as a slam or trolling I am not .. I amjust seeing both sides of the fence.

Do you know who need for speed is made by? I won't buy Left 4 Dead 2. In fact I uninstalled left 4 dead 1 when I heard this announcement. EA got push involved with Valve and its going to continue on this trend for this game license. Valve is a grade A developer. I do not deny that. I love team fortress, all the half life's and so on! But teaming up with EA was the wrong idea. Bill Roper from Blizz north thought nothing of it too! He made games like Diablo 1+2 the amazing games they were, then he went out into the big world outside of Blizzard and got crapped on... SPECIFICALLY by EA. Hellgate: London at its core could have been amazing with more work.

TRULY the most upsetting part of this release in my eyes is that they are doing Left 4 Dead 2 before we even hear about Half Life Episode 3.

A continuation of a story is much different than a game like Madden, Need for Speed, Left 4 Dead, or outside of EA's sphere, Call of Duty, getting a couple pieces of flare put on it and repackaged.

EA isn't "evil" per se. They do what works. Its disappointing from a gamer's standpoint in my eyes because nothing in their market is pushed forward. Very little EA does is at all revolutionary or even interesting. Its just rehashed, repackaged, decent games a lot of people tend to not mind playing over and over again. They make a lot of money off that gamer ideal. Personally I shy away from anything EA.

Half life Ep 3 wont be for a while, expect it to be released with the next Portal game, as they will tie the two together.

Pros:

I am very amused with the way they reshaped the hand for the "two". Laughed pretty hard.

I do hope they have made the AI a little bit smarter. Both ways, good and bad guy AI.

More levels. Nuff' said right there.

Cons:

$50 price tag. I will be buying it at the inevitable %50 off weekend. Left 4 Dead was not a major hit till the %50 off weekend. Valve knows this and EAs sticking their head in the sand.

Accelerated release schedule. Its what you get dealing with the big evil EA, Valve. Hopefully this does not mean they will push you into blandness. It having to be 2 rather than an expansion is because of console play. Understandable... annoying, but understandable.

POSSIBLE CON, not having an easy cross from one to the next. If Left 4 Dead is left exclusive to itself I will be sad panda. At least I hope the original characters are available.

WHY NO HALF-LIFE EP 3!!!! Either tell us its not coming or freaking do it already. Major TF2 updates and 2 whole new games? I call shenanigans!

it's very simple for all the people bagging on EA and Valve...

do not buy it if you do not like it...

and for Gilgamesh195 comment there is only so much info they can put on a disc. thus they cannot give us everything they wanted that like saying when quake 2 came out " omg why was this not included in quake 1" then when quake 3 came out again " omg why was this not included in quake 1"

it's the nature of the beast. it is how it has been done for years. and half the people that say omg it's crap will be there at the store money in hand buying it. :D I know I will. that game has provided me with MANY nights with friends till the weeeeeee early morning..

and for ArenaceusMaga's comment... no, no you do not have ta pay 50 bucks :) u could just not buy it if you do not think it is right.. you are right 4 new characters, a couple of new weapons and 5 new levels with a new type of infected and I will love every min of it :) lets say you like racing games. ok? need for speed lets use. same crap for the most part each time it comes out. yet people buy it every time. it is what people want ..so, they pay. nothing different here. /rant off

I know it doesn't OWN the game or company, but it does decide on factors. Especially when you're a company like EA and have THAT kind of push.

So basically for 4 new characters, a couple of new weapons and 5 new levels with a new type of infected I get to pay another 50 bucks. I love EA's business model for releasing games, its very environmental. "Reduce, reuse, and recycle" to maximize profit. Shoving crap product out the doors is no problem at 50 bucks a pop.
