Compromised Account

This past Sat. Nathan responed to an in game whisper to go to a website to get a mount.  You can guess what happened after that.

Our account was hacked using a keylogger and when we got back into it my main char. a lvl 68 Shaman that i have worked and worked on and my most fav. of all was deleted completely.

I could not belive it.  We had to wait until Monday to call Blizzard and get back into the account and then we logged on and requested to talk to a Game Master.

A message showed up in the upper right corner that we had an open ticken and that there was a high volumn of tickets at the moment so the wait could be long.

Twelve hours later still no response from the Game Master i could not beilive it.  There is no way for me to get my char. or my stuff back without talking with an in-game Game Master and I have a limited amount of time to report the deletion and yet after twelve hours of being logged in and waiting still no Game Master to report it to.

I understand they are busy but that is beyond acceptable wait times.

    I had my account hacked through a keylogger in an UI mod a while ago. I was told to email this team and they did restore everything. I didn't have to wait for an ingame GM at all.

    Two weeks ago I had my account compromised. I don't know how as I did not go to any websites.  However I did watch some videos about Aion.  I turned in a ticket and have not had any response back, so I guess I will not be getting any gold or armour back soon or at all.  I have since ordered an authenticator, hopefully this will prevent this from happening to me again.

    BadBoy and BadBoy_Levels are both great addons to reduce that kind of scam/spam whisper to practically zero.  Since installing both I've yet to see a gold seller or account scammer whisper.

    Addition:

    In my opinion, Blizzard should not allow trial members of level 1 to be able to whisper anyone. Even make it that a trial member can only whisper if they reach level 10.

    That's just my thoughts.

    Yep, it is.

    Most of the stuff can get given back to you, you are the only one who knows your secret password and your account name is under your real name. These things canNOT be changed at all by anyone else who gets the account, so you will get your account back if all the information you prove to Blizzard over the phone matches up.

    The problem is waiting on GMs to then roll back whatever may have been lost.

    May I suggest getting yourself something like WIM (Wow Instant Messenger) addon and then turning on the level filter part of the addon (or find a level filter addon).

    Set it up to filter out ALL level 1s, regardless. Most of the crap, be it gold sellers or links to mounts and so on come from level 1's, so if you set up your addon to filter all level 1 crap to not be heard, not be able to whisper you, it makes your life a lot easier and toon a bit safer.

    that sucks man blizz needs to add some more gms and add classifications to the tickets to make things faster but the gms sometimes respond to tickets while you are offline although everytime that ive been offline and they responded the problem i had was never correctly fixed
